Jason -- if you have the homelink mirror the easiest thing is to use an invisicord. If not, there are some threads on here about hardwiring radar detectors. I think the one from par4bmw is pretty informative. Hope that helps.

I just recently ordered a country joy mount (23 mm) and an 8 inch invisicord for the new passport 9500 i bought off the for sale section. It shipped today so hopefully I will have it done for the cruise this sunday if you are going to be there and want to check it out.

I cannot go this weekend. My oldest boy just graduated from Marine Corps Boot Camp. This is his only weekend home before he leaves for San Diego again.

Radar detector
At Jason - just did the install...piece of cake! The mirror has 3 wire:
Red/black - switched power (closest to driver) Black/grey - ground (middle wire) Yellow - constant power (closest to passenger) Slide the yellow wrapped invisicord wire right under the red/black wire on the mirror and slide the black wrapped inviscord wire right under the black/grey middle wire on the mirror. That's it. At Wayne -- too bad you can't come. Anyone else in?? We need to get to Fast Eddies by 11AM so Mike where do you want to meet? Sometime around 10? |
