Indy owners?
I dont see an Indiana or Indianapolis thread... sooo...
:hello: |
Damn, no one? lol Well if someone from Indy ventures in here, I need an alignment and so far I've been striking out on a place that can get my Z onto a rack due to it being too low. Open for suggestions.
|
Not from Indy, but there is a big meet this weekend in Nashville, IN. I'm sure someone there would be able to answer all of your questions...
Midwest Z Heritage Show 2013 Registration is closed, but if you're in the neighborhood, stop on by and I'll say hey :tiphat: :hello:! |

I have my car pretty slammed on coilovers and took it out to a little shop in Morristown called Runyon's to get it aligned, although they did have to mock up a 2'x'4' ramp so I was able to get on the machine. Glad I had the rear camber and toe arms cause it was seriously out after 1-3/4" drop. I'm over towards New Pal and never see any other Z's when I'm out. |
Are you the same BrandonSS from Indycarscene?
|
Yeah thats me :) And yes I was not accepted in IMIN either due to me not being active last go around in INI (bought a house last january, renovated it myself all year, vacations, and got engaged.. my time was sparse). Shrug.
Indycarscene was blocked here at the office. I'm surprised this one has lasted as long as it has lol I miss that board :( Oh and I'm on the east-north east side. Just south of Geist. I see a few Z's but very rarely. Heck I rarely see any 350z's. |
Never posted on ICS much, was more of a lurker. I don't even remember what my user name was on there. Think it had something to do with S2k.
Glad I'm not the only who wasn't accepted in IMIN. lol I'm the same way...full time job where I have to travel, married, gym, etc. |

Are you going as well? |
I'm heading down Saturday morning. Leaving Cincinnati around 7. Should be there by 830 or 9
|
Any pics from this event?
|
i took a few, ill try to post them tonight. Id say there were over 100 Zs at the show. I didnt stay for any other events.
|
I was hoping we would have more show up in this thread. It's rough coming from the WRX club that has tons of local members and 2 huge meets per year at Tom Wood.
|
The post show wrap up is now available at Midwest Z Heritage Show 2013 Sponsors .Every car, every winner, every everything.....check it out
All rejects are welcome in the Indy Z Car Club which has been around since 1996. Unfortunately, our website has been hacked and is down, but we meet every second Thursday at Hubler Nissan in Greenwood, 7pm. Many then go down the street to M&E's for some food and liquid refreshments at 8pm. We are on Facebook but I don't know how active that is. Come to a meeting and meet some of the guys. Wives/girlfriends are also welcome. |
Extreme Southern Indiana here. Clarksville, originally from Columbus.

Sounds good. Tuesday is a travel day for me on a lot of weeks, but will try and make it down if I'm around. I love that little Sushi place that is right next to that dealership. Are there any speed bumps going in there? Seemed like the last time I went through there with another car, I had to go over a few of them. Sadly, my car's not able to do speed bumps anymore. |
Went down and grabbed some sushi this evening and it looks like I should be able to navigate around that parking lot without issue.
|
I'm on the West side of Indy.
I was sitting at the light at Ronnie Raygun and 10th and a Z that could have been me went by - solid red roadster. Pretty rare occurrence. My wife and I took a trip to Nova Scotia last summer. Over 5000 miles. Saw two Zs. One was a 350. |
Avon
I too am a west sider, you may see me running around Avon, don't venture out much further too often in the Z.
:driving: I have seen a red Nismo around a couple times, 10th & girl school once and 36 & dan jones once, dont know if hes lives in avon or not, or if hes a forum member... |
I saw a Red Nismo with black rims headed towards New Pal earlier this week.
Also, spotted this out at the track on Friday. http://i39.tinypic.com/15exn9x.jpg |

I was able to talk to the driver for a while before the race last year on the pit walk, but didn't get down early enough this year to do that again. Guy was super nice.
He didn't do so well again this year. Not sure what happened at the beginning, but he was working from the back by the time I got there. |

I got so bummed when I was sitting in the stands because I didn't see the Z anywhere. Then, as time went on, here he comes up to Pole Position!. I was jacked up at that point. Wish I could have gone this year. Here's the pic I took last year as Heitkotter was winding through the lesser cars. :stirthepot: http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...kyard-1672.jpg |
I don't remember his name. He was really excited about being on pole...which I didn't realize until he had told me. Think he ended up getting bumped by someone in the backstretch on the first lap.

38th and Shadeland. I haven't been past there but a couple of times since I moved from the East side to the West side about ten years ago.
|
Yep. Found it amusing that they were using a Z on their board. Unfortunately, my office is located just around the corner from this place. My Z never really goes to work cause the roads are so bad around here.
|
Their web site features a nice looking 350Z. They appear to be a pretty small place, so of course they don't have anything even vaguely resembling that for sale.
I'm pretty lucky. Most of my trip to work is can be Interstate. When that's not workable I have two alternatives, both of which have bone jarring railroad crossings. So I usually take the big roads. |
Spotted a new Magma Red Coupe up at Jockamo Pizza this evening.
|
any of you Indy guys have an extra set of TPMS that will work in my 2009? If so PM ME!
|
I don't. Did you get tires on your 20's or did you have to get new rims?

Wheel specs are 20x9 +18 and 20x11 +20. The fronts do not clear the akebonos without a spacer Mounted currently with 20mm spacers up front making the front 20x9 -2 and the rear has my 25mm spacer making the rear 20x11 -5. My 15mm were delivered today according to my tracking number so I will be removing the 25mm from the rear, moving the 20mm to the back and then installing the 15mm on the front and then measuring. If I can run a thinner spacer, I will buy a 10mm and put it up front. The tires also stretched a lot more than I ever wanted. Fronts are 245/30/20 (shorter than stock to give me extra clearance.. heard a 245/35 would rub at this offset without camber arms up front) but for some reason it is stretched on the 9" wheel. Was not expecting that at all considering the stock is a 245 with a 9" wheel and no stretch. Rear i knew there would be stretch but i didnt think it would be that bad. The stock wheel as you know runs a 275/35/19 on a 10" wheels and I went with a Pilot Sport in 275/30/20 on the 11" wheel. It's stretched a lot. I was expecting just a tiny bit. Overall, I think these wheels actually run wider than they claim, unfortunately. I love the wheels but I'm not sure it's my cup of tea. Considering maybe selling them or trading for some Nismo wheels if they dont grow on me. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/BrandonSS/side.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82...anglefront.jpg :ugh2: |
I think the rims look good, but it would definitely be better if you were able to get a little more sidewall on those tires. It looks awful thin in the front. Think that would terrify me driving on some of these crappy Indy roads.
Your car looks really low with that Nismo front bumper.... |
There are 3 (that I know of) up in the Peru area including mine.

New Indy Z Car Club Meeting Site and New Website!
We meet at a new location starting with the January 9th!! We are moving to: Rusty Bucket 1130 West 86th Street Indianapolis, IN 46260 Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern - Indianapolis > Home “The name of the meeting site and the condition of my S30 is purely coincidental”…. In other big news, we now have a new website up! Indy Z Car Club. Check it out!! The contact email address for the Z Board is IZCC@indyzcarclub.org. The new site does not have a discussion forum, since it was a real problem with the spammers. This is an informational site only. As mentioned on the site, the Facebook site will be a source of the most current information. The website lists our 2014 meeting dates and the special Z events that are being planned. Check out the website and if you are in Indiana, please join us! |
While it's fun driving my sedan everyday...I really want to get the Z out more and more. I've had more than my fill of this snow and cold weather.
Have you still been able to get your Z out in this weather Bummer? Also, hoping the city makes quick work of all of these potholes once it warms up. |
buy my snow tires and go winter rally racing!

Usually, once the roads are cleared, I'm back in the Z. The only place that's a real problem is my neighborhood. It has to hit three or four inches or they won't plow. I couldn't agree more about the pavement problems. Some of those holes have basements. |
Alert the press: I had the Z out today.
Got new rubber on the rear and ready for this spring to begin! |
