We only had a couple of inches here but it was enough that I had to reschedule my clear bra installation at Bodyworks. Most it melted today with temps in the mid-30s, the rest of it will be gone tomorrow with temps in the 40s. Then several days in the mid-20s, but no precipi. Can't push the Potenza S-04s, but at least it will be drivable for the next week or 10 days.

Dave are you still considering going?
I may have a 3 week class in GA that month, so probably won't be able to make Zdayz. I really want to go, though. Trying to figure out how I can at least drive up there that weekend and party with everyone.

Just wrapping the hood? And yeah these temps are on and off, hopefully it clears up, it's the first day of spring today!

Wrapping the nose/front bumper unit, 8 inches of the front of the hood, door sills, and door edges with 3M Scotchguard. That plan is based on the problems I had over three years on my 2011 Z with rock chips and bug staining. That south shore of Mille Lacs in May/June will break your heart.

$620 at the BodyWorks in Baxter.

Black will be hard to keep clean. Based on my experience with Black Cherry, it will readily show all the rock chips, and the staining from bug guts will be very noticable. I know, the bugs are less of a problem if you wash them off right away, but this is Minnesota and sometimes real life keeps you from firing up the pressure washer and executing your two-bucket wash in a timely fashion. I have had good luck with a Flex polisher and some Adam's Fine Machine Polish, but that becomes a weekly project and that gets old. My limited experience with clear bras has been that the bug guts just wipe right off with some Plexus plastic cleaner or maybe some gentle hand polishing with some Novus. Anyway, that's the route I'm going to go.

I'm planning on it also, just spent a good amount on foam guns towels and soaps. Thinking of getting a polisher also

Trust me, you won't be able to get rid of swirls or other paint flaws with hand polishing, especially with a black car. It will take a machine. With my Black Cherry Z, I became a total Junkman convert for paint correction and management...check his videos here in the detailing forum, on YouTube, or look at the videos on Adams Polishes website. I recommend the Porter Cable 7424XP with Adams orange and white pads and polishes. Very cost effective and will maintain that Magnetic Black and really make it pop. I moved up to the Flex polisher...it doesn't do a better job, but it is much faster.

Foam guns, good microfiber towels (South Korean, not Chinese....check out The Rag Company) are fine for maintaining the finish, but if you can't correct a swirled finish or other paint marring, you'll never be able to do justice to that beautiful black car. I was resistant too, but Black Cherry is as hard to correct as black, and when the finish has swirls and micromarring, no amount of Walmart wax is going to give you a good depth of shine.

Here's my old Z...
