Another great source is driving the SCCA Road Rallies. In the past few years they do this only in November. They run one course on Saturday and a different course on Sunday. The Rallymeister really finds some great roads, the kind of roads you want to go back and drive later. |
Thanks!!!! Now I just gotta get home. My wife will be taking the Z in for tinting here soon. Going 35 I think all the way around. I'm sure she'll end up posting pics of it when its done (since I just found out she's on the board now too.)
|
there's plenty of places to drive around for fun. i'll have to start writing down some of my favorite spots.
i was hooked on late night drives through Mission Hills in the datsun (slowly i'll add). but it will be awhile before that happens again. http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...3/e9dff2be.jpg |
its little parts of kc that are fun.
renner between 95th and 87th. 4 consecutive round abouts, wide too (thats 435 along the right) http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...3/bb4acd67.jpg |
I think this warrants a new thread eh? If I were a mod, I'd probably sticky it, maybe we can convince one to do so. I bet before long, there will be others who would do the same.
|
how bout we just start a thread right now?!
ON IT! |
my mom came over to my house the other day in stepdad's pickup.
backed the trailer hitch right into front of my z  watched the whole thing happen once again my bumper is going back to the body shop. |

^ does this mean ur a military guy??
|
Yes I'm army.
|
Attending the college there? Regardless, it's a beautiful facility. I've gone to the homes tour there the last 2 years and the homes are gorgeous. I was in one which had been occupied by Custer.
|
Yes I'm going to the school for a year. I'll look into the home tour. I'm sure the post will push it.
|
Maybe your home will be on the tour! Unfortunately, this great event has little publicity. I found out about it by accident last year and you really have to dig to find info about it.
Typically, we caravan from KC up there, do the tour, then head across the river and hit O'Malley's in Weston. man, I LOVE their Dropkick beer. |

This year it was May 5th. You pay at the museum (which has some really interesting stuff) and they provide you a map to the homes. You can drive, walk, or ride a shuttle. This year we opted to walk and hit about 8 homes. This year's homes were different than last.
Some of the homes are on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River. Very beautiful scenery. If I recall, tickets were like $15 which went to a Ft. Leavenworth charity(?) We think it's a great way to spend a Saturday. |
