Well, if it rains tomorrow I may be able to actually make it to an event for the first time in forever. I can get a ton crap moved by not working until 6pm.

I'm currently drawing rain turtles...

"HAZCC Annual Meeting Saturday, December 6th
Please mark your calendar for Saturday, December 6th and join your Heart of America Z Car Club for its annual meeting with installation of officers.
Our meeting will be held at one of our newest sponsors…Hendrick Nissan at 8400 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Merriam, KS. This is located a few blocks east of I-35.
The times are still tentative but here is an estimated schedule:
Prior to our meeting, the Hendrick sales team will be using our meeting room. Our schedule will need to work around theirs.
*Begin gathering around 8 to 8:30. Hendrick will be treating us to coffee and snacks.
*Our meeting will begin approximately at 9 am BUT it could start a little later. I encourage you to plan on being there by 9 am.
Our meeting will be short. There will be a financial report, membership update, a review of 2014, and introduction of your new 2015-2016 Board of Directors and Officers.
Please RSVP to Kit Lueg at luv2bass@everestkc.net (edit by mjb) Hope you all can make it."
The exact starting time of our meeting is still tentative. Our meeting room will be used by the Hendrick sales team and we'll have access after the adjourn....hopefully around 9 am.
The forecast says it will be dry tomorrow.

Quick question. What is the downside to aluminum thick walled exhaust over stainless steel besides looks. Anyone?

edub370 12-11-2014 12:07 PM

never heard of an aluminum exhaust before

cost...

aluminum takes extra care to weld, more expensive equipment, more expensive labor (i know aluminum welders who make $80+/hr), and needs to be relatively pure to resist/hold heat, cracking, and daily abuse. You're looking at easily $5k for a typical low end aluminum exhaust.

performance...

One interesting property of steel for exhausts is that it holds heat to a certain temperature so that you don't get a lot of thermal loss. The property of holding heat versus dispelling it allows gasses to be propelled out of the pipes rather than having to reheat the walls and lose energy like in aluminum

project_zed 12-13-2014 05:30 PM

Hmm but how much performance really is lost.

Also does anyone else's Z make a creaking noise when you sit in it or after you engage the parking brake and let the brake pedal go?

edub370 12-18-2014 08:46 AM

welp, car's up for the winter. time to start buying parts lol

Gilianz 12-24-2014 12:22 AM

Well, this thread has been dead for a while... Any suggestions on what I should do next? Save for wheels is my first option or look into headlight modification?

m3chhawk 12-24-2014 03:46 PM

Wheels and mod your headlights yourself

ZKraken22 12-24-2014 04:20 PM

This thread is dead? This forum is dead!

project_zed 12-26-2014 12:52 PM

Anyone besides me driving the Z daily? I have only seen one or two in lee's summit. It was a base pre-13 fascia.

I'm considering doing the headlights myself but very scared to baked them open. Other than that the painting and halos should be pretty easy... I think. Anyone bake open their headlights themselves?

edub370 12-26-2014 05:43 PM

Jackson and Premal did their headlights themselves

m3chhawk 12-26-2014 07:35 PM

I did my 350Z. OneEighty did my 370Z. Having gone both routes, I'd recommend doing them yourself.

project_zed 12-26-2014 09:07 PM

Really??

project_zed 12-26-2014 09:09 PM

I really wanna get them done. Worried about the seal after putting it back together

m3chhawk 12-26-2014 09:18 PM

There is a very good chance they will haze no matter who does them. The pair that OneEighty did have worse haze than any of the DIY 370Z lenses I've seen. I don't think it's anything they did or didn't do, but once you break that factory seal they are never the same.

project_zed 12-27-2014 10:15 AM

Dang. Well then i'll probably do it me self then. Thanks for the info

Yulp, 03 Enthusiast in grey. Nothing too special. Sold it when I bought the 370Z to a guy that was going to LS swap it. Haven't seen or heard from him since. Wouldn't mind having another one actually.
