Don't feel like forking over another extra $100 for spacers when Z1 has 20/25 (hub centric) going for about $220 with shipping.

I found hub centric spacers on Amazon for $56/pair. I put them on yesterday and they are great. Very good quality. They look just like the HR spacers and are designed just like them. They are so much alike, I think they are the same. I got mine in 20mm.

Could you get me a link to the ones that you bought?

I used Ichiba bolt on spacers. never had an issue

cregan6318 11-04-2014 06:50 PM

Hopefully I will have the Z back tomorrow. In case you didn't hear the slave cylinder went out last Thursday night.

Curious...how many miles on the car?

cregan6318 11-05-2014 08:52 PM

Less than 22k. No call from the dealer today. Hopefully tomorrow

Has anyone gotten a tune for their 370z in town? Where did you get it done and recommendations? Also prices? All I have right now is post MAF tubes with high flow air filters and planning on adding a CBE. thanks

I've done quite a bit of searching and the only place that keeps coming up is Modified by KC. They are an UPREV dealer. I am getting tuned by them when they get back from SEMA the end of the month. Another guy on the forum recommended them too.

edub370 11-07-2014 08:18 AM

yep. they tuned my car. tune was done about 2 years ago and the car hasn't had any issues.

side note: are there any car shows going on this weekend

I've been searching high and low to see if anyone has tuned a stock Z and shown a dyno but nothing. Any idea if k&n drop ins and a catback would have decent gains post tune? I'm thinking about going to mkc for that...

edub370 11-07-2014 01:28 PM

to be honest, i'm not sure if i would dyno tunes for just a CBE and intake. i think the ecu can correct for those small AFR tweaks. no, if u go to HFC or test pipes, then i would be looking to tune

Well, unless they have changed their habits. You will be waiting. They stole $400 from me and refused to give it back. I paid for a tune that never happened because they drug their feet for 6 months getting UPrev'd certified. I chalked it up as a lesson learned on paying for something ahead of time. :shakes head:

On a side note, you can get a decent can tune for what you are doing. It will not be maxed out but it will give you a nice little boost in HP and you can load it yourself and save about $500. Speaking of which I have the CD and tuner cable somewhere in my house....I think it will work?:ugh2:

Not looking to do HFC or test pipes currently as I'm not sure where the car is going in the next few years, and I do have a nice lifetime warranty i'm trying to hang on to for as long as possible (but knowing the mod bug, it won't be long i guess).

Also just trying to keep it relatively stock for autox...nothing against the rules in tuning the ecu as long as boost isn't touched...i think...but i'm not boosted so that doesn't make a difference :D

I have a tactrix cable from my subaru tuning. is that similar to the one you have? mine is just the usb to OBD II cable that has it's own micro-processor to translate and send to the laptop. Is this similar to what you have?

PM me, I'd be interested to give it a shot at least!

It should be. Same exact concept and it's from Uprev. When I had my first 370z boosted I spent many hours downloading tunes & loading tunes ( STS shyt kit). I will look to see if I can find the cable. Unfortunately I am busy this weekend trying to find a house for me and my pooch. I will let you know if I find it.

PS: It will burn your VIN on it when used but was told it should be back to factory right now. Unsure if that is how it works.

Gilianz 11-10-2014 11:50 PM

Of course once I have my car all pretty on coilovers, spacers and new shoes it begins to get cold. Hopefully I can drive it around for a little while more. I should have a picture up soon. I hope anyways...

edub370 11-11-2014 07:49 AM

Today will be the last, if I can get home in time, it will be out until I move. Then it'll sit in that garage as well.

pbhakta 11-15-2014 08:35 PM

No such thing as hibernation for mine. Long as no rain and snow or salt on the ground the car is always out.

http://imgur.com/a/qhWBs Is the link to the album... there's only 3 pictures but I'll get more on a good day. This was before the alignment. Looks more even with the alignment and I also put some new tires on. Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions in 245/40/19 and 285/35/19.

I got Blizzaks on the back of mine, put them on Saturday morning. I got mine from TiresPlus... the damn things had to come from Las Vegas... WTF does Vegas need Blizzaks for? Put sand tube in the back, I'm :driving: till the snow gets over 4", then I'm off work. :P

Mine is a base car, so a pair of 245/45-18 Blizzaks out the door was about $700, without TPMS.

victorofhavoc 11-18-2014 09:04 AM

So this weekend the GF and I were in Hermann Mo for some wine tastings. We got lost on an old gravel road, and on the way back down the road we hit a slick spot on a downhill with an unexpected turn at the top of the hill on the other side. The traction control and ABS kicked in and straightened me out rather than letting me turn. It was snowing about 2 inches and turning into ice as soon as it hit the ground because it was only 32 degrees out. We ended up in the ditch, but everyone is fully okay.

I was in my Subaru Forester XT on general altimax arctics (some of the best snow tires out there). It just goes to show that it doesn't matter if you have AWD, RWD, FWD or whatever, you're still at risk of sliding, even on good winter tires. If I was in my Z I think it would have been a lot worse than it actually was.

Stay safe out there this winter guys! Make sure you always have some sort of small roadside emergency kit because you never know when it'll come in handy.

Oh believe me I would... except for early morning start ups kinda wakes the neighbors. Other than that I don't think it bothers that many people.

Edit: I retract my statement... Listening to more youtube videos of it (seems to be more now) I want to take out the silencer.

How's everyone doing? I've made no changes to my z yet, but now that things are starting to calm down I can afford to treat her right. :driving: :tiphat:

Speaking of 2014 PW Z's... saw one Sunday as I was crossing 119th to go to Starbucks at 119th & US 69. They were getting ready to turn left onto the same street I was on. Anyone here claim it? :)
