Person thought the car would look better with $8100 of damage to the rear end. Z's basically have no rear bumper protection at all. Expect large dollar figures if you get hit from the back as it all just crumples up at really low speeds even.

So So sad :( Hopefully you didn't get hit by one of those giant monster trucks they consider road legal in this country...I feel like those would just run over our cars

It was a go-cart lol. There is really no rear bumper protection on this car. I just got it back today and I now have new paint on the doors, hatch, rear quarter panels, and of course the bumper. The diffuser is now a gloss black to match the roof and wheels instead of the flat black that was there. They did an excellent job and it is now better than it was. It just ruined my Arkansas driving trip as it happened on my first day down there for the week.

A Go-cart?? Dang, makes me glad this isn't my DD, that just can't be safe...

Good thing you got something out of it though! I got rear-ended in my old car, and got new tires out of it :D

edub370 10-10-2014 08:19 AM

i leave the page for a couple days and i come back to this. sad news indeed. but glad you got the car fixed

benji 10-15-2014 01:08 PM

i had a little old lady bump into me at walmart the other day ( the one time i actually park there, alll the way in back) and she hit my car doing probably less than 3 mph, 967$ worth of damage. Sorry to hear yours got hit too man, people just dont respect cars :(

That would be awesome, especially if history repeats.... :stirthepot:

sboden 10-17-2014 09:11 AM

I personally am happy it isn't the Cards. I've already watched a Cards/Royals world series matchup. I would prefer something different this time. It also keeps me from seeing a decent amount of red at the K.

MLyons 10-17-2014 02:11 PM

Anyone going to Heartland Park this weekend for the AutoX?

sboden 10-20-2014 08:46 PM

Nope. I was in the Maple Leaf parade in Baldwin.

victorofhavoc 10-22-2014 09:01 AM

Blue Z in front of Harpo's down in westport last night...was that anyone on here? Had some TE37 looking wheels

Ghostvette 10-22-2014 09:52 AM

Wasn't me since I don't go to Westport at night. I'm easy to spot, car has JDM Fairlady badge & veteran's tags.

sboden 10-22-2014 12:29 PM

Nope

ghotnit 10-22-2014 12:47 PM

Do you guys here in KC ever get together for drives or other activities?

I saw that one too the other day over in the Longview region.

victorofhavoc 10-22-2014 01:28 PM

it was that candy looking blue, not the shiny looking kind. Stood out for sure. Is anyone here planning on going to the upcoming autox? last one of the year!

Sometimes we get together in random parking lots and stare at our own cars...

Gilianz 10-23-2014 01:22 AM

So I did not know this but apparently there is a DIY auto repair shop in Olathe... Would have been nice to know about when I got my exhaust. Oh well, I guess that's where I'll be going for my coilovers (probably this weekend) and at the same time help my friend/roommate put on his Tomei exhaust on his Evo 10!

Edit: How do you guys feel about spacers? And do you think they are a good idea? Still saving up for the wheels I want so in the mean time I want my car to not look like a sunken ship.

edub370 10-23-2014 08:47 AM

I am running 15 mil spacers in the rear of mine. never had an issue with em.

side note, who wants to get together for a drive soon? what weekend would work for everyone?

I used to run 20 mm spacers all around on my stock wheels with swifts...looked good, would have even went up to 25 on the backs to make it look perfect.

I tend to stay away from spacers because I try and stick as close to stock as possible for wheel offsets...go too low in the front in offset (or add too thick of a spacer) and you'll lose some steering feel. on CERTAIN cars you'll prematurely wear down your bearings by going too low on offset

I'm down for a drive soon! Can we do it this Sunday around 8 am in independence at the autox course? ;) I'm really wanting to see more 370s out there!

I would be game for a drive in 2 weeks. The weekend of Halloween would be cool. I was going to TX that weekend but bought the car instead.

edub370 10-23-2014 11:43 AM

I cant this sunday. but 2 weeks from now may work for me

Hm... I think I will look into getting 15mm all around for stock then... or do you guys think 15/20 would look better?

The race would of been worth it....the car will always be there.

On a side note, now that I have minute, is anyone going to COTA next weekend? If so, hit me up. I will be driving the car down to the race.

If everything goes well and stays the way it's moving I'm up for meeting up in 2 weeks (weekend after Halloween)

Not CODA but COTA (for those who do not follow F1...Circuits of the Americas in Austin, TX)

I know this is early notice but I wanted to give you all plenty of notice to join the Heart of America Z Car Club Sunday, November 2nd from 1 to 4 pm at the Armacost Museum in Grandview, MO.

If you're not familiar with "The Armacost", it is a private automobile collection housed in one of the finest facilities in Kansas City. This is not generally open to the public but is open by special arrangement. I have made that arrangement.

The collection includes everything from a Ferrari F40 to a 1919 Rolls Royce to British sports cars to American muscle cars to turn of the 20th century Harley Davidson motor cycles. Personally, my favorite part is the collection of Studebakers. The Armacost family was a Studebaker dealer in Kansas City for decades. Consequently, they have several.

If you have been there before you might think "Been there. Done that. Seen that." The Armacost collection is quite extensive and more than may be housed here. They cars on display constantly changes. You never know what you will see until you get there!

"The Armacost" has set the following guidelines:
1. No one under 16 allowed.
2. A $5 donation/admittance is required. One Hundred percent of the money collected is donated to a local Grandview charity.
3. No food or drink allowed.

Bringing a camera is STRONGLY encouraged.

More info here:
HOVER MOTOR COMPANY: The Armacost Auto Museum in Grandview is a little-known Kansas City treasure

"The Armacost" is located at :
4200 E 135th St. Grandview, MO 64030

I'll provide you with updates and more details later. More info will be made available at Heart of America Z Car Club or Heart of America Z Car Club on Facebook or my Facebook page.. Dan McConnell

This is an open invitation. Please share with your "responsible" friends, car club, organization, etc.

Thanks in advance,

edub370 10-29-2014 01:59 PM

everyone see that world record vhr build on the engine section? 371whp at 8200rpms! ooo that sound would be epic

Gilianz 11-02-2014 01:47 AM

Well... Good news is my car is on the coilovers. Bad news I didn't get to order my spacers in time. So I am still looking. Do you guys think the Z1 spacers are good enough? Don't feel like forking over another extra $100 for spacers when Z1 has 20/25 (hub centric) going for about $220 with shipping.
