It's supposed to be a 500+hp hybrid

edub370 08-26-2013 08:47 AM

if that was like $45k i would throw my z keys at them and say shutup and take my money

however, i have about $100 saying that car is $70k+

m3chhawk 08-26-2013 09:27 AM

500 HP + Hybrid + Lexus Involvement ≠< $80k

Gilianz 08-26-2013 04:26 PM

I really did wish that US had more FI cars on the market. Also adding to that note I must have been sleeping under a rock because I didn't even know that there was a Supra concept.....

m3chhawk 08-27-2013 09:57 AM

Somewhat related, did you see the dyno results?
http://media.ed.edmunds-media.com/ch...821133_717.jpg

If I'm spending $52k, I want more than 407 HP. Especially when the primary competitor just dropped 600HP at $54k.

Regardless, if Toyota produced a car that put down ~500HP at ~$50k that looked similar to the LFA, they would sell a ridiculous amount of them.

Plus the weight would be a lot less than the American tanks. So 500hp and weighing 500-1000lbs less. Yeah the 500 wins. Even if they are $52k I would still buy this over the Corvette or stang any day. It's just sexy as hell.

New Nissan Z Car, Code-Named Z35, in Pipeline - Motor Trend

Thought you guys might wanna see this, since the discussion is on future options.

Personally I'd love a new Supra, but I highly doubt I could afford one. The Supra was my first sports car, and I've kept the dream alive that I might someday be able to purchase a more modern one, for some time now.

The Stingray might be the ticket if it proves to be the car they are touting. Having said that, I'd really like to see if Nissan pulls their head out of their asses and designs a more competitive platform for the Z35. If they do, I'll gladly stick with Nissan.

That's what I like to hear. Honestly not much hate here on 4 bangers either. Can't wait to see how this platform unfolds.

Yeah, my guess is a competitor for the new NSX as opposed to Mustang and Camaros...

ya that makes the most sense.... tho thats pretty big gap from the $22k 86's to a $70k car.

plus that's totally just some random guys idea of a supra rendering. Where the windshield meets the drivers window is all kinds of wrong.

The current gap is $22k to $300k.

Yeah its a pretty terrible rendering. This one is better, but the a-pillar area still looks gawd awful:

Not a fun road but that tunnel coming in to KC. I believe it goes to 69 South. Bump it into 3rd and just run through it. Only place with a decent tunnel for eargasms :P

Come Join Your HAZCC for its MitM Cruize & Picnic, Sunday, September, 15.
Here is your invitation to join your Heart of America Z Car Club Sunday, September 15th for its first ever Meet in the Middle Cruize with our Omaha cousins- Z Cars of Nebraska. We will be meeting in a spot about in the middle for both of us….Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge near Mound City, MO.
Here is the plan:
*Beginning shortly after 9 a.m. we begin gathering at the McDonalds at 1843 Village West Parkway. This is on the north side of The Legends just off Parallel Parkway and I-435 in Kansas City, KS.
*At 9:30 we’ll be departing and driving the Glacial Hills Scenic Parkway through Leavenworth, Atchison, and eventually to Rulo, NE. where we’ll hop across the Missouri River for the short drive to Squaw Creek. Please be prepared to go with a full tank of gas and an empty bladder. 
*Time permitting; we’ll also be taking a short driving tour of Atchison.
*12:00ish. Arriving at Squaw Creek. Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge in Missouri | VisitMO.com
Things you will need:
*This is a picnic so please bring your own picnic lunch i.e sandwiches, side dishes, drinks, plates, cutlery, drinks, etc. Everyone is to provide for themselves. If you want to bring more to share with others, that’s great as well.
*ZoNE will be bringing a BBQ grill so if you want to prepare your own hot dogs, burgers, steaks, etc., that is an option.
*You may want to also bring walking/hiking shoes, bug spray, binoculars, and 2 way radios will also come in very handy.
Looking forward to z’ing you all!

Hmm, No it is the newly constructed one. You see it past the exit to Quivira coming from K-10 or 435

Oh ya... That is freshly built. Think only open couple weeks/months. All kinds of crazy exits and diverts over there now.

edub370 09-03-2013 11:31 AM

best tunnels are from 435 east to 69 south (that's the one u guys were talking about), and 35 north to 75th street.

as for great driving roads

What's up... How's the cougar?? Haven't been on my350 in forever

As far as St. Louis show. Actually pretty good one. I won award there once. Been 3 times, first two didn't even own a z, I would drive Gregg's z31.

Dad wants to go, but I'd rather spend weekend workin on datsun.

Gilianz 09-05-2013 09:41 AM

Anyone going to Fast Fridays tomorrow? My roommate and I are thinking about hitting it up. He's going to pretty up his 240sx and of course I would bring my Z.

well 20 mins ago would have said yes. Thought was going to drive the 510, but the radiator I just got in the mail does not match the specs.

says it 2.5 inch thick, and it's really 3in which wont fit.

Ghostvette 09-05-2013 02:46 PM

Just wanted to let everyone in the KC area know, that in about 3 weeks I'll be taking delivery of a way to reprogram/pair TPMS sensors without having to go to Nissan and paying $150. It will tell me what sensors are having issues with batteries and will give OEM and Dorman PNs, so we can get the best price. I'll post on the forum when I actually get it, along with what I'll charge to do it for you (won't be dealer price).

Jackson, wash it in hot water then stick it in the dryer at high heat for an hour. I know I can shrink clothes that way. Maybe it will work on radiators, too. :)

JacksonZ33 09-06-2013 09:23 AM

ya so it took couple hours of cutting and swapping out bolts on my water pump but it fits, barely

It's thick!!

like we're talking 1/4inch of clearance... tho now that spent all yesterday getting it to fit, don't have time to make mounts for it.

The weather looks FANTASTIC for this.....81 degrees and sunny! Bring your sunscreen! Chairs, too!

Gilianz 09-09-2013 07:08 PM

So this might be the wrong section but... I want to get an opinion of KC people. Should I go with a resonated or non resonated exhaust? I'll be running FI Resonated TP with an APEXi exhaust (<3 JDM). And if you don't know the brand then... Don't mind the second bit of info. Really appreciate honest opinions. Thanks!!

tower74 09-09-2013 07:14 PM

Resonator!!! Running straight or close to straight sucks. Yeah the hp is nice but the headaches aren't

Gilianz 09-09-2013 07:47 PM

Hmm, Well thanks for the input so far. I guess I'm going to fork over an additional $200 for a resonator! And in a month I shall have videos!
