some of datsun progress
finally remembered to bring my camera to work. should have new air filter on monday. already replaced fuel lines before i ever took pics. most were still original and 43 years old.

how about some before and afters.

just more pics

original blue engine paint. for that matter almost everything, beside distributer, where original.

some new cancer i found under the battery box. pretty flat area shouldn't be too hard to fix. but i have spent many hours fully poking around and lets just say its a lot worse than I thought. Id say both floor pans need be removed along with some other very major spots. definitely have my work cut out.

put side emblem on hood, it was best condition one I had

removed soft top frame and cover. mmmmm potential!

original shifter bezel & rubber boot

driveshaft ftw

great example of how thin the metal is on this car

new one, was only meant to be temporary, only spent 45 mins on it. needs more sanding and decide on how it will be finished out. will have leather shift boot as well.

oh and dad stopped by (fathers day) for his z-speed under shroud install.

Is it difficult finding parts for that?

Finally looked at a map (sorry still new to the KC area) and yeah theres a good possibility the Nismo would have been in that area. Was there a hot looking asian woman driving it?

Couldn't tell the windows were tinted and she was moving pretty quick. My work truck (F350 Crew Cab) does really move to quick.

Quite possibly. Not sure about the plates, I figure they still have the dealer tags on them. Most likely in the eastern side of town.

Re. Cars & Coffee, I approached a business owner a few years back about sponsoring this but got no response. His business would have been great as it's located on a major street, lot's of traffic, and less than a block from Starbucks.

In researching C&C in St. Louis and Oklahoma City, they both are held at a Starbucks. Maybe approach a local Starbucks about hosting this?

I noticed on the OKC C&C Facebook page they have a code of conduct such as no burnouts, no speeding, etc.

If I recall, the C&Cs are held on Saturday mornings from 8 or 9 a.m. to noon.

Good luck!

When I get home from A'stan, I'll gladly volunteer and help coordinate. Can't do much from over here, but I can use my resources over at my350z to get information.

Eureka Springs is one of my favorite places!!! As Sboden mentioned, there are some FANTASTIC roads there including the Pig Trail. The highway to get there shoots right out of E.S. Don't know if you're into the arts but the new Crystal Bridges Gallery in Bentonville is fantastic. It's worth the drive just so see the facility.

Here is a link to help you find some great roads. Just click on Arkansas. There are some FANTASTIC roads in the Harrison, AR. area.

So I'm curious then, when I get home tp KC, where would you recommend I go driving the Nismo? From what little time I've spent there, it seems plenty of the major freeways have some nice long sweepers here and there. They all seem well maintained, but I could go for a route that puts the Z's handling to good use.

One of the more popular roads is K-5 which runs from I-435 on the Kansas Side into Leavenworth/Lansing. Another is Mission Road in Leawood, south of 151st street. All around this area are some great roads. It's just a matter of finding a good map which shows county roads and just taking off and driving them.

Another great source is driving the SCCA Road Rallies. In the past few years they do this only in November. They run one course on Saturday and a different course on Sunday. The Rallymeister really finds some great roads, the kind of roads you want to go back and drive later.

The pig trail...actually lots of really good places to drive. I'll get you some places to eat but it is mostly about the driving. I've done quite a few events down there.

Well the car is fixed for now...Found that the douches at Executive installed more or less dirt bike spark plugs in my car!!!! Also had found that the intake valve timing control solenoid valve was stuck wide open. We had found it by accident when cleaning the oil off it...dumb luck but I'll take it!!! $300 later but it's running with some new HKS High Performance spark plugs plus a cam sensor. I'm seriously thinking about calling a lawyer to see if I can file a lawsuit against them. Between STS and Executive they have cost me almost $3000 worth of extra labor, lost work, missing parts etc. in the last 6 months.

Do eeet....

Seriously, they should be held accountable for their actions. If you're out money, and can prove it, take em to court. You're doing everyone a favor. Personally, I'd put the information out there so that they lose business too.
