Skyline Drive
You Virginians are pretty lucky...that's some beautiful country up there. I just did it for the first time yesterday. Was a 10 hour round trip here from MD but it was worth it. Here is a funny pic though, I stopped too stretch and use the restroom at one of the stopping points on skyline...and came back to my car and saw that I was being crowded by crappy car....

Skyline FTW!
Great road for a nice relaxing drive. |
Hahaha......"crappy car"....I read the post and didn't scroll down for the picture until I finished reading it....a GT-R was NOT what I expected to see. ;)

I think I'm about to drive out there today...

Fun fun! Skyline is a nice drive to do. You'll have to check out the Blue Ridge sometime too now for a comparison. 45 MPH speed limit vs. 35 and no entrance fee. I only saw one copper the entire 479 miles too! I was hauling ***! ;-)

LOL!
Yeah, skylines always park next to their family members. |

Beautiful ride indeed, back in my youth (about 23 years ago, now I am 51YO) I rode my bicycle up to the skyline and did a short stint and back to the valley. No way I would try that now! ;)
Another great ride is the Natchez Trace it goes from Natchez, MS to outside Nashville and no commercial vehicle are allowed plus the speed limit is like 50 mph. Did it on a bicycle too, only problem was finding places to get water. Natchez Trace Parkway (U.S. National Park Service) |

Eh, I don't know about being lucky, the cops up there are straight up out to get you....

It's a great ride any time of the year and in my back yard (well under 10 miles away).
