Best 370z tuner location

You know P Tuning is probably 5 minutes from where you are in Manassas and they don't charge 2K for a Uprev NA tune........

are they good? I dont want some chop shop tuning my $45k bad investment. also, ima toss on a couple other mods before I go full retard and tune. I cant decide if I wanna just save up for a turbo rip off kit, or go cheap and build NA. but the limit NA seems to be about 320 WHP.... and honestly if im going to spend any kind of money thats not nearly enough.

The biggest problem with the 370z is its sales compared to its competitors. These are the sales from 09-12 which makes a grand total of 37,999 in 4 years.

2009 13,118
2010 10,215
2011 7,328
2012 7,338

Here's the mustangs sales from 09-12 nation wide. They had more sales I. Any given year than the 370z has since it has been in production. And actually 2011 saw the least amount of mustangs produced since it first came out in 1964.

2009 66,623
2010 73,716
2011. 70,438
2012 82,995

So I think a safe estimate would be there's about 10,000 (~25%) 370z owners out there who are actually looking to doing any sort of modification. And even estimating that is very generous. So the companies like GTM, Greddy, Fast Intentions, ect have to charge more since it still cost the same to do research and development so they then have to past that cost onto the consumer. Less sold means higher cost per unit. A lot of large companies look at the 370z customers and cut them as a loss because its not an ideal situation for a business. Maybe 10 years from now the companies who do make our parts will be cheaper just due to the fact that they have made their money back from the research and development and/or they found an easier/cheaper way to make the same product. But in my opinion I don't see cheap quality parts for the 370z any time soon. But I agree I don't like spending a lot for parts that would be have the price for any other car but its the price of doing business with the 370z. Got to love it.

I don't give a FVCK what shops need to pay. No fvcking uprev tune is worth 1,000 DOLLARS. Are you SERIOUS?

If you cant afford to run your shop then close it the fvck down. Dont go around sticking dicks up peoples azzes.

You are one angry dude........ Anyhow either pay a shop to tune or learn how to tune yourself and if you blow up your engine then its a learning experience for life. Call P tuning or better yet go check the tune sections and read what people have to say about them. Me included.

Wow. He is angry. I had a Rx8 and that car was very expensive to mod. It wasn't worth it unless u just wanted to drop 8 grand on forced induction. Should just buy a ZR1 or GTR and be done with it.

you got hills garage and je imports
i go to Hills Garage for all my tuning

i agree at tune should not cost 1000. bucks thats just a rip off
most i have paid for a tune is 600.00 and that was with the tuner doing extra to get the tune perfect
i had my car tuned at JE IMPORTS,HILLS GARAGE and when i had a mustang at JPC and never paid that much

You have three solid options as I see it and I'll list them out in order of price:

-Moore Automotive: Likely the cheapest option and their tuner is rain man when it comes to messing with cars. They offer all sorts of in-shop discounts on yelp and through their facebook page. They are a really chill group of guys who all have their own "project cars" who will make sure you are happy before you leave. Their tuner has a really nasty Evo that's usually parked out front. Expect to pay around $500-600 for a custom tune. I really love these guys because they let you hang out in the shop and don't mind if you ask questions. Bill (the owner) is a really good guy.

-P-Tuning: Never actually used them for anything other than parts but I have heard good things. IIRC their tune prices were just a bit more than Moore's. They actually specialize in the BR-Z/FR-S platform and have some pretty serious racing chops utilizing older Scion platforms. I've seen of infinities and Z's in and out of there too so you're in good hands.

-Hill's Garage: These guys are the end-all/be-all of Nissan tuning. They were around when Uprev was first created and helped to write some of the custom sw maps they still use today. They even have wacky conditional tunes (temperature, AFR behavior etc). Frank Hill was one of the co-founders of Altered Atmosphere and is a freaking genius when it comes to the VQ motors. They come VERY highly recommended. Assuming you already have the uprev license, it'll run you a little over $1k for the tune. More if you don't. These guys work on tuner cars for the Ravens including that one dude's GT-R that made the news about a year ago for running a 100mph cruise down I95 with a police escort (lol). Hill's is the real deal but you will pay dearly for it.

I should also mention that my prices are based on tuning for a FI car. I'm sure NA is a lot less.

Moore's installed my supercharger just FYI. They specialize in Evos and Subies so they are very familiar with FI builds.

I used Ptuning on my NA setup. Happy with the results, they're professional and do good work.

For subarus I highly recommend Agile Auto. Know the owners personally and they are fantastic people that do great work.
