:iagree:

In my opinion, while spirited driving you are primarily putting yourself in danger because we go on isolated backroads. Doing burnouts in a parking lot, you're putting the general public in much more danger.

Woo Hoo for the C63 and the 370z. I hope they make a clean get away.

I wasn't talking about this specific video, just in general.

Oh, I was gonna say. People keep talking about burnouts in parking lots, which according to the video, wasn't the case.

MyKindaGuise 05-21-2013 09:43 AM

Im probably a bit late but I have "heard" and "seen" enough of the spirited drives to know what really goes on. But I am going to hold my statement until I watch this video incase it is legit nuts...

eastwest2300 05-21-2013 09:57 AM

Yeah we all know about the "spirited" driving that takes place.

Oh you mean double the posted speed limit or more on residential back roads with driveways.

Ive done that whole "spirited" thing once and honestly im ashamed of how risky it was. I know how to handle my car but you cant handle other people in public areas.

You are so literal sometimes... I may have mentioned in a previous post about burnouts in parking lots. Since the evidence does not back me up, then I guess I should retract all my comments and opinions? :shakes head: Not going to happen. I guess I should have been less specific and said "public area" instead of "parking lot". I hope you can forgive me... Not that it matters to me. I like to get along with everyone, but I am realistic in thinking that not everyone has the same level of common sense that most of us have.

Anytime driving behavior makes it to the news, it is not a good thing! This behavior was in direct attachment to the Mega Meet (in the Mall parking lot) and the motivation of the drivers to exhibit bad judgment in public and put the other drivers on the road and spectators on the side of the road in danger. It is easy for a spectator to encourage someone to show off; it won't be their accident, unless the vehicle careens into the crowd. The C63 is a perfect example of someone losing control while showing off. I am sure that the Mall is strongly considering never to have a sanctioned car event again, and that would be a shame for the automotive enthusiasts.

To use a quote of yours: "I'm just saying".
Oh wait, I should probably wait and post that in one minute, then post again in a another minute from that post... I would use what I call the "Dee Method" to get three posts towards my goal! :inoutroflpuke:

Yup, you're right about that bro. As the old saying goes, it's all fun until someone gets hurt.

MyKindaGuise 05-21-2013 10:20 AM

Z Stig has a point. This kind of media is not what we want. Cops already don't like us. And the general public see us as the people from the fast and the furious movies drifting through inner city streets and placing bets on races and stuff 99% of us don't even care to do.

eastwest2300 05-21-2013 10:22 AM

Do me a favor and re-read the entire thread, I agree with you. I'm not disputing that. Once again, I'll say it again, I said the video was badass. Which is my opinion. I'm entitled to it. You don't like it, I don't care. It's cool.

Literal, whatever. Common sense, whatever. Call it what you want. Post it 3 times (aka "Dee's Method"), wait a minute, then another minute, whatever. Get mad, be happy, whatever.

Have a good day.:icon17:

I agree with you man 100%. People are mad at me, for saying "spirited" driving is wrong too, but according to those people that are mad at me consider our wrong is a lesser wrong because our "spirited" driving is on back roads, and are less driven, which makes it right.:ugh2:

All I saw in that video was a bunch of idiots that barely know how to drive their cars and have little to no respect for other cars on public roads There is nothing bad a$$ about that video :twocents:

man i miss that i left about an hour earlier
99% of all the car shows i have been to do this at the end of the show were there are a lot of young people
and like you say its all fun till some one gets hurt with that said so is fast driving on the back roads
were guys we can be dumb asses young and old and we love cars its the nature of the beast if you dont like it then find a new hobby

m4a1mustang 05-21-2013 10:36 AM

See, none of the car shows I go have this at the end. If you don't like it, you don't need to find a new hobby. We need to self police and keep **** like this from happening so we don't get anyone hurt and/or attract any more negative attention than we already do.

If the community frowns upon acting like a tool in public places it will happen less often.

:shakes head: telling me to find a new hobby because young, irresponsible drivers think it's acceptable to do $hit like this on public roads. Dumbest. Comment. Ever.

Bingo! If I'm ever at a meet where this kind of crap happens, you can bet I will be distancing myself from the group. If I were in charge of the group (or one of the leaders/founders - like Steve), I would absolutely be policing the group to ensure they don't pull stunts like this...

But, Steve supports the "spirited" driving on the back roads that are less traveled. It's justified for those 2 reasons.:ugh2:

that part I quoted is absolutely NOT an opinion... it is nothing but :stirthepot:

An opinion would be: I don't think what these people are doing is wrong.
An opinion is not: You don't like it? Well then GTFO.
