I'm looking at doing headers but want to make sure it's not too loud and obnoxious. Anyone in the area that might want to come to the Columbia meet-up sometime

Anyone in the area with headers installed?

The only person I know with headers is Cody, but he lives in PA, and is currently doing a custom turbo build.

Maybe I'm just a no0b but wouldn't the "loud and obnoxious" part really depend on the entire exhaust system and not "just" having aftermarket exhaust headers? I mean, I know it will have an effect on the sound and would probably even help to make stock CBE sound nicer but something tells me the effect will be very much related to what CBE you are running and whether you have a test pipes, high flow cats, or OEM cats.

Cwiz has headers paird with Fast Intentions, he is down at Zdayz this week though but he normally comes out to events we plan here. I think he will be at the Fairfax meet on the 25th.

Its not too loud to me. I loved the noise when I had it on my Ark exhaust. Under 2800rpms was very easy on the ears. Starting around 3krpms that would change to a bit louder constant rumble. Around 4k it would scream like a race car. So it was very pleasing. Loud when I wanted it.

Which headers did you have paired with the Ark? And did you have high flow cats?

The headers are gonna give you more torque, you'll be able to tell the difference.. easily.

paired with a nice CBE, you shouldn't be any "louder" per say compared to running test pipes on stock headers

I'd like to do headers, but after toying with the HFCs and the deamon bolt, I got a bad taste in my mouth about messing with the engine.

I don't think Chris's (cwiz) setup is too loud but when you have to drive behind him you gag on exhaust fumes the whole time. Its not a slight odor, its very pungent imo. So yeah, as the driver you'd probably never care until epa or a cop is right behind you.
