For my car can I just go ask for Motul at autozone?
Looking like a SS clutch line is in my future for sure.

I'm assuming I don't need "clutch fluid" since it's a MT, right? Just motul brake fluid...?

*reminder: I'm still kinda new at this sportscar thing. Before my 2009 Z, my last car was a Sentra (lol)
There is a thread with DIY for this. Its a two person job as you need someone to press the clutch in while you are bleeding it.

REQUEST: DIY Clutch Fluid bleed/swap/replacement.

There are various one-man brake bleed kits you can use for either brakes or clutch.

The Motul RBF-600 works for brakes and clutch fluid.

You can have it done at the dealership of course, but you'll pay for labor. I don't have tools or space so I wind up paying for it but if you bring the fluid yourself you could save some. If doing brakes and clutch, bring three bottles. Its about $17-$19 for one bottle. Whatever you might have left over can be retained.

Yeah, I modified my post to reflect that he'll likely be having someone else doing it nearby unless he has time, tools, extra body to help.

Yeah I'll just pay them to do it unless I can get someone to help (that isn't my girlfriend)

Its just one of those times if your car is running perfectly fine, and you've done a ton of research on how to replace your brake/clutch fluid and you're comfortable with actually going through with it. Then I'd say do it yourself, but your car isnt running, and you just need to get it fixed as fast as possible, so the smart thing is take it to a mechanic so you can get it running again.

I still want to know how this happened... Do you normally have to replace clutch fluid after 1 year? That seems really odd to me.

I mean thats what I would do.. the only way I would work on it myself is if I KNEW what I was doing. Im all about working on my own car, but if its something I dont know anything about, Im not messing with it, you could do more harm than good.

The dealer is the best place to take it. They should recognize the issue (SOMETHING caused the fluid to disapear) and if they loosened or overtightened something during the last service, they may fix it completely free. I would just hate for you to be driving down the road all proud of the DIY you did replacing the fluid to find out that the fittings released all of your fluid while driving. That stuff is slippery!!! Saw a car go off at VIR because a car in fron of them lost their clutch and dropped fluid.

That's the weird thing though. I've never seen a fluid leak under the car. That would have definitely set off alarm bells

So no auto shops (and I mean none) around here have Motul. I'm just going to take it to the dealership and let them do their thng with whatever the nismo stock fluid is
