Edit: Also, I have no idea how I would be out of clutch fluid with just a shade over 7k miles on the car.

When I suffered the clutch not coming back up from the floor when depressed it was due to boiling the OEM clutch fluid on the track with temps on the track that day at 104F.
After letting it cool down for several hours I was able to get it back working as normal. After that I upgraded to Motul RBF-600 in the brake lines and for clutch fluid. No problems since. I do hope it isn't a CSC failure, but at least if under warranty it would be covered.

Track or not Jon, would you say upgrading your brake fluid to the Motul stuff is a good idea?

If you don't drive your car hard where higher temps are a concern for braking and the clutch then personally I'd say don't bother. If you envision times where you are pushing the car hard with higher temps it would not hurt.

I assumed that was your case. However, what is "spirited" driving to some might be different from what others would call it. Yesterday was pretty warm as I recall too. That said, you will find out soon if you are having it taken in which is a smart thing to do for warranty purposes. Keep us posted.

Question. Ran home at lunch to check clutch fluid (haven't done it on a Z before) and there's no dipstick. The fluid reservoir is very small. Should there be standing fluid in it?

Reservoir itself is empty. Can I just run out to autozone and buy motul fluid and dump it in?

So uh. This isn't something I can do in my girlfriend's driveway I take it. Seeing as I do not have transparent vinyl hoses etc.
For my car can I just go ask for Motul at autozone? Looking like a SS clutch line is in my future for sure. I'm assuming I don't need "clutch fluid" since it's a MT, right? Just motul brake fluid...? *reminder: I'm still kinda new at this sportscar thing. Before my 2009 Z, my last car was a Sentra (lol)

dude, if you dont know how to fix this, why mess with it? take it to the dealer and let them fix it.

Its kinda like, know when to say when. I mean, its only a 40k car. Me personally, i wouldnt mess with it or try to fix it especially if I had no clue whats involved to have it fixed.
