Then why haven't you gotten it tuned to see where you're at?

Little things like flutters on down shifts and the sound when the flood gates open at 4k. FI is great they make really good stuff hence me having their headers. I just think the Ark is the better exhaust mostly because of x pipe placement

Eh. I dunno. I looked at both before I went with FI. Ark, FI and Stillen were the 3 I really looked at (Berk sounds awful and Meisterschaft was just too damn expensive). If you can show me empirical data somewhere that shows the Ark grip is superior to the FI, I'd be really surprised.

Edit: I mean, if you're right and the FI exhaust is "a lot of hype", there are other gearheads on the forum that would have ripped it to pieces by now...right?

Nope. I said a Mustang is the one that reads low. Just looked at my dyno sheet to double check, DynoJet.

That was the plan homie. Akumas +tune with vvel beta. But you know turbo. Why spend $1200 for all of that just to undo it in a few months?

Sadly the paperwork just doesn't exist. Once a trend starts it steam rolls. Everyone knows FI is proven and newcomers get on the forum and everyone crams it down their throats.

I'm not even saying FI is bad? I'm just saying its highly recommended so no one cares to try one off setups. FI is amazing and has proven results. Its a good exhaust system with great gains.

$1200?! Where are you getting that number? AAM is $599 for tune right now. Plus, if you get the tune, it will be one less thing you'll have to buy later on after you get your kit...

Ark really didn't do anything but ripoff the HKS design. Sorry to say... :ugh2:

I agree that there isn't much of a market for homemade stuff, but at the same time, most people who get a 30+k car don't wanna take it to bobs exhaust shop for a $150 exhaust... (not saying that's what you're doing, but just using it as reference)

I want you to hit 330, don't get me wrong. It will show me the reason I'm not is because something is wrong = needs fixing. Rather than "It's running fine, it just runs low" because right now that answer is not sitting well with me. Based on what I've seen with others, my numbers are low for a reason. And if you can tag it, it's possible.

Honestly tune is 600 and intakes are close to that as well. That's my $1200 haha.
Also no offense to AAM but they are GTR guys. I'd go to RAD or RT tuning for the tune.

And no I understand not everybody wants to do that with an exhaust. I just figured there would be more people willing to play with mixing the prefabbed parts is all. Idk were talking miniscule gains here but I truly believe that 330 would be obtainable. Too bad I has no proofs ):

Oh, ok, your number was all inclusive... I thought you meant 1200 just for the tune.

That is true, but I like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing.

The other guys RAD, and RT are so far away from me it would be a weekend trip, and I can't afford that plus I don't think they're open on weekends anyways? :icon17:

I'm not sure most people have the resources or desire to tackle that sort of thing... Too much measuring and cutting and welding, to need to remeasure, cut and weld, 5 more times... :icon17:

No doubt AAM is good I just see them having a lot more time on GTRs then the Z. Can't blame them GTRs kick ***. Haha.

And yeah i dont know shop hours. I think RT is partially open saturday and theyre close to me being out near philly.

Cutting and welding...Uhg such uhhh "fun" times.

I do notice a lean towards the GT-R side, I guess I was just hoping some of that GT-R experience would filter down to the Z's.

If I can't find resolution beforehand, I might take it to RT or PTuning later in the year for a second opinion. The fact I've asked for information and haven't gotten word back in over a week is not making me feel comfortable about it. :ugh2:

I'll have to look into RT, maybe we can work out something. I already have the UpRev license, so that cost should no longer be needed right, just dyno pulls?

Dude RT quoted me $400ish for an NA tune and $600ish for FI tune. Im sure it'll be less since you have uprev already. just email Erik@rttuning.com tell him I sent you. They have a lot of broad experience, lots of boosted stuff, A bunch of Zs, I even saw them post on instagram a McLaren MP4-12C they were tuning.

Let me look up their website and see exactly how far away they are from me...

XwChriswX 04-01-2013 10:49 PM

2wd dyno tuning: $200/hour... Hopefully since the hard work is done (initial tuning) I wouldn't need much work, perhaps troubleshooting/adjusting, so one hour would theoretically be enough for me... Might definitely want to give them a call... Hmmm just under 3 hours driving time, so roughly 2.5 hours for me.

Would have to be doing the tune in the afternoon... Gonna have to at least ask them about it.
