1. If they do a sniffer test it will fail 2. Your headers dont use J bend O2 bung and it will trigger the cat and o2 readiness light, failing the car. |
If they do the sniffer test you will, but if only check for CEL you will be fine.

theres alot of ways to fail, depends your county or who you know i guess. my area, i get a diagnostic and gas cap test.
PA DEP I/M - Emission Test Calculator also.. i don't think the HKS has secondary cats... those are resonators. i did a quick look with that link and it looks like the state college area requires a visual check and gas cap test... so yeh.. your gonna fail. |

All they do now a days on the newer cars is hook up to the obd port and scan for any error codes. If you don't currently have a check engine light displayed on your dashboard you will be fine and pass inspection. The sniff test is for cars so old they don't have a obd port.
Pennsylvania Code According to that you will have a obd scan and a gas cap test. You should be fine. |
yaah i failed in state college, looks like i'll drive to a another county where they dont have a visual test

I'm in Adams county and here they don't test for emissions. The shop I went to said as long as it passes the Safety part of the inspection, they don't care about mods. They work on race cars as well, so that was pretty cool to see. Also, in your OP you were talking about "secondary cats", what do you mean by that? Neither PPE Headers nor HKS Exhaust have cats in them? |
