Headlight disaster folks - I did a thing.
09 10 11 12 NISSAN 370Z HEADLIGHT XENON HID SET LH AND RH | eBay
So check what I found (and immediately purchased) for super cheap on ebay. Three questions: -I'm obviously keeping the lenses - also the bulbs but does anyone want my old ones (they have defects but nowhere near as bad as some of the others). You can have them for free or buy me a beer or something. Whatever. -Does anyone want to help me defray costs a bit by buying other parts like the housings/ballasts etc? -Does anyone know a good customs shop that would handle cannibalizing the new lights and fixing up the old ones? I can't seem to find a shop willing to handle it. Preferably one around the DC area but I'm somewhat flexible.

Im glad you got a set, thats awesome. I'd like to buy a small piece from you when you get them.. the piece I need is the piece that holds the bulb in place, remember those two metal rods, that we were trying to slide into place only to realize we were beating ourselves to death.

Yep, I remember.
Question is, can we remove that piece without smashing the housing? If I remember right, the piece broke off the housing and not vice-versa.

Thats right... soo let me get this straight, the ones you just bought, you're gonna be taking bits and pieces from those right, the ones on your car you'll be adding to, correct?

Right but I'd like to avoid beating the ones I'm going to cannibalize to death with a hammer so I can at least make a little money back on the parts.

You shouldnt have to "beat them down with a hammer" you should be able to completely break them down into pieces. And sell the parts like that. Or something to that effect.

Obviously, the biggest piece that you need is the top shell. Once you have that, you'll be golden, BIG TIME.

That's awesome man! My passenger side one is the one that's melted, so I'll gladly take your buffed/smoothed out one over what I have now. I'll buy you lunch/dinner (depending on what time we eat ) for the help. I don't need any parts other than the lens.
