Need a traffic attorney in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Anyone have any recommendations? I got a ticket doing 77 in a 55. Officer didn't write me up for reckless which I'm grateful for. I'm military and live in MD with an Indiana license.
I don't want the points so I'd like to find a traffic attorney to represent me I court without me having to be there. So far I've found an attorney in Chesapeake that will charge $350 to try and get it knocked down to a fine only violation It might be hard to get it knocked down to improper equipment since I was driving a rental F-150 but it's worth a shot. |
What is the name of the attorney? When I lived in Hampton I was charged with reckless driving and got an attorney for $350. In the end I had to attend the drivers course classes and everything was dropped.....and I ended up with +5 points on my license.
Funny how things work out....I total my car and the other persons car and I end up with positive points on my license. *shrugs* |
Those are "kill points"

Bottom line is that traffic attorneys are almost never worth it unless you're being charged with a crime (and not a moving violation) like reckless.
You get some bored traffic court judge who doesn't care that you brought a lawyer with you and then you're out lawyer fees etc. The cop will also testify that he has already reduced your penalty so... |
I received a nasty "Exhibition of Speed" ticket back in Nebraska (read: street racing on backroads).
Paid $200 for a good lawyer and the ticket completely disappeared. I'd see if you can take the class, that usually gets rid of everything, but can only be used once a year or two. |
Yeah just take a traffic class.. you'll be fine, i would think.
