On that brz you might as well just hook the cone filter up right up to the manifold. Its been a while since I've had thermo dynamics in college and I might be a bit rusty but as far as I can tell that box is doing nothing other than looking awkward. I'm not trying to bash the design, just haven't been able to wrap my mind around how it's better than whats already available and would love to be educated.
Read my points in first post, click on link to see example of Swift's work. The key is the elliptical bellmouth design for improved flow dynamics and complete enclosure plus OEM ducting for optimal heat shielding. Also, ease of installation and cleaning and pretty underhood bling.

Whether or not it actually outperforms any existing intake is an empirical question, which cannot be answered without building and testing it... hence the thread.

I have no pre-existing relationship with Swift -- just saw the design and thought it would be a great option for us...

Unlike you Blades, they can have my Z for as long as they want, I have the S2000. I think this sounds cool, so Im down for it.

Thanks Jordo, I got both your PM's, I'll be calling them tomorrow to hopefully set something up.

Unlike you, I have intakes installed already. Did you put a special request in to have them hand you the intakes uninstalled after they finish development? Trollolololol

Looking at the sketch, they're going for a velocity stack setup. Just do a search on google and you'll learn all you need to know about the science behind velocity stacks.

In for dyno results.

fwiw the sites I've come across tend to say that a good velocity stack design that is properly tuned for the motor they're on are good for a 2-4% gain. Don't know how true that is but on a Nismo that would be anywhere from 7 to 14 hp.
