What's the cost associated with doing this btw? I'm down though - if someone's hosting I can bring booze for sure.

I think just around $20 for paint since we are doing it ourselves.

paint & silicone (to seal it back together). I would also say a fine grit sand paper so the paint will stick. I've dealt with paint in the past. Yall dont have to do any prep, but I know I will.

Yeah Mr aamcomp said a few beers for his time. So that +paint which wont be much for 2 lights. Also I can't legally purchase such substances yet but I will throw in :D would also be a good time for car pictures as well.

So lets do this damn thing... when? lets do it some time next month.

dmhenderson 08-08-2012 05:18 PM

Yep, whenever and I'm down. I'll buy beer/liquor if someone will assist me with mine (keep me from f'ing it up somehow)

Edit: Needs to be on a weekend.

Yeah I've read the DIY for it and it says that no prep is necessary with Krylon Fusion paint. I'm probably gonna just do mines without the prep, but you're free to do whatever you like :tiphat:

Also, thinking about the logistics of this whole thing, it might get a little hectic. There will be around 5 of us doing it. To get the headlights off, we need to take the front bumper off. We will need a jack and some tools to do this (it's very easy) and some place to safely put the 5 front bumpers. We might have to move our cars around with no front bumper or head lights :icon17:

Well I don't drink, but I can bring some soda or some snacks. Ditto on this being on a weekend. We should probably start sometime in the morning just in case it takes a lot longer than we expect (which is usually the case with DIY mods). :p

I'm just basing this on the number of people who have already confirmed. Maybe you can keep a list in the OP?

Khoi, I know you are going to be there, but are you doing your headlights as well or just helping us out?

eastwest2300 08-08-2012 05:34 PM

Whos technically the expert in doing this, (taking off the bumper, and have actually done this mod before?)
