The biggest fear with doing this is the potential condensation that could occur, Im personally not gonna chance it, I'd much rather remove the old sealant and reapply new sealant, thats just me though.
I consider this a one shot deal, and I wanna do it right, I dont wanna have to go back and fix something, you know.

Removing the old sealant will add time to the install.....but if you want to do it then it's fine. Make sure to get something that isn't permanent so that if anyone ever has to open it back up, they can.

So when you're ready to put it back together, press it back as best as possible. throw it in the oven for about 10 minutes to reactivate the old sealant, and you'll be surprise how tight you can get it back together. let it cool off, add a bead of clear silicone for insurance and you're set! this is almost a full proof system, essentially you'll have double the amount of sealant now

i did this modification on my g37 before, its not something hard but rather time consuming. i used the heat gun method to open up a corner of headlight and used thin metal part to keep them from closing while i worked on opening them. i dont believe you can do 5-6 cars in a day, i say 2-3 cars when you work fast. im sure the oven method can be faster than heatgun. but that is just an estimate of time by parting out the lens, and preparing them for paint, drying(i guess you can use the fast healing paint. 1 thin coat every 15min of drying time), sealing back up.
anyway, good luck with this modification. i will be doing my z headlight in chrome black this time around. this was my car headlight @ first attempt |

Looks great man! This is going to take longer than I initially expected, but with this many people working together, hopefully we can get it done quicker.

I think we'll be able to get it done. I believe whats gonna happen is, we're gonna end up getting all the bumpers off and the headlights out, and that second team will be over running the 1st team doing the actual lights. Which is fine, thats where the heat gun can come into play if anyone has one.

oh yeah, and use nissan rubber butyl instead of the silicon sealant. first time sealing was done with black silicon sealant, and end up opening the headlight twice because of the condensation and water leaking after carwash. second time round was with the rubber butyl and had better luck. but be very careful with this product cuz it gets so messsssy

Not trying to be a ballbuster here but offer advice. Might want to start a consumables list so no one is running to Lowes for this and that. For example, if messing with sealant maybe a good idea to pick up a box of rubber gloves?

he hasn't even been posting and probably have 10+ pages of catching up to do lol
you guys also need to figure out what color you want your housings. IN my opinion I think semi gloss black looks the best. flat black or matte black looks good until the sun hits it and it almost gives it a grayish hue
