Budd's Creek Test & Tunes March & April

...seems like almost every weekend they are having these. Wondering if any of you Maryland or Virginia dudes have ever been there, or plan on going.

I've never been before. Might be up to checking it out some time though. I don't drag my Z but its fun sometimes to go spectate.

When I go, I go to the ones at Capitol Raceway since it's a lot closer to me. Thinking about going this Sunday if the weather is good.

Let's see if you're even slower this time than when you were stock :stirthepot:

m4a1mustang 03-19-2012 02:51 PM

I go to MIR but only for private rentals. I hate how crowded the test & tunes are.

I guess we'll find out soon enough. It will probably be like 20-30 degrees warmer than the day I set my best time though.

I will not be very keen on a big crowd, especially if the best I can do is like a 15.2

Fewer witnesses the better for me.

I did notice they only have like 12-15 cars each time so far, so not sure if that is considered crowded or not, as I have never been to one.

Where is MIR anyway ?

m4a1mustang 03-19-2012 03:10 PM

MIR is in Budds Creek ;)

I may still be able to beat my stock time though. I haz moar powah from modz and wider tires now. If the track prep is ok then I should be able to hit 12's again.

You haven't gotten a tune though right? Thought the 3.7 with intake/exhaust/HFC's needed a new tune for everything to sync together well

No tune yet. We'll see how it works out at the drag strip :p

I'll probably get it tuned in the fall.

I think he will find it will start running ragged as time goes on ... mine ran like a champ for about a month with all that crap bolted on, but then it started degrading. They said my AFRs were all screwed up.

m4a1mustang 03-19-2012 03:21 PM

Yup. Need tune nao.

It seems fine so far after about 2 weeks. I won't have money to get a tune for like 6 months. Birdman's had his on for a while with no tune and I don't think he's had any issues.

Doesn't it start to run uber-rich if you don't?

Moore Auto 03-19-2012 05:11 PM

We offer UpRev tuning Pm me if anyone is interested.

I thought it was the other way around. I think Steve told me once I should be worried about it being too lean.

m4a1mustang 03-20-2012 07:50 AM

Yeah it might run lean which can be dangerous. If you go too long untuned you'll be telling us she done blowed up!

Do you know if the Cobb AP can read/adjust the A/F ratio? I might try to borrow one if someone has it to do so.

m4a1mustang 03-20-2012 08:16 AM

You can't just borrow a Cobb and make adjustments. You have to mate it to your car, and during that time it can only be used on your car.

Well that sucks. Guess I'll just have to wait and hope for the best.
