I've seen guys with black Zs do their emblems with it. Look pretty cool

I kinda want the red GT500 stripes, so Plasti-dip would help me test it out and see if I actually want them.

Def. from what I saw, it's very bright

I'll have to pick some up and play around with it. The GT500 stripes have a black pinstripe around the red main one, so I figure I could probably lay down a black base coat then spray red with maybe 1/4" black on either side uncovered.

That's pretty interesting. I'd be concerned with how it reacts to brake dust, heat, and the elements over time, though.

Mine seem good so far after about 2 weeks and its been through some rain.

That would probably work.

Yup, Im leaning towards doing the entire rim in plastidip, I think It'll come out fantastic.

My emblems are still holding up okay. They are fading to a very gray shade of black over time, prolly cause I could have put more coats on. :ugh2:

My side markers though are starting to show silver through. So I'll prolly end up having to re-do them. No biggie, they were a snap to do.

However for wheels I'm a bit more concerned with road nonsense getting scratches/scrapes that under rotation will eventually start peeling off sections. :ugh2:

I wonder if you were to take the plastidip, put it on. Then apply a clear coat of an epoxy or resin of some sort, instead of clear plastidip to give it a more resistant surface... how that would hold up, if the two would bond? :icon08:

Plastidip actually sells gloss for wheels.

Like Brian said, they have a glossifier made just for plasti dip. If you use a regular clear coat, it would somewhat work but cause the plasti dip to harden. This makes it a lot harder to take the plasti dip off if you want to. It's still possible to take it off, but much more of a PITA.
