To drop or not to drop
1 Attachment(s)
I'm debating dropping the car on some swift springs. My current dilemma here is how low my exhaust hangs already. I've got about 3" clearance right now. Would you all lower the car or leave it as is considering this is my daily driver? I feel like I'm asking for trouble if I lower it.

I would stay away from it. I have the gemini, and during normal driving I dont scrape, but coming out of my driveway, unless I come in at a weird awkward angle, my exhaust scrapes.
I personally think your money would be better spent on some stillen sway bars, I notcied a LOT more difference in handling compared to the springs. |
I've been dropped on Swifts and have the F.I. CBE and have never scraped at all even on speed bumps. Your AAM exhaust seems to hang really low though as I still have about 3 inches of clearance from the lowest point of the F.I.
In your case I would hesitate dropping unless you plan to replace your exhaust. |
I wouldn't want to drop with that clearance.

Drop it like it is hot

I dropped my car an inch beyond the swift drop and never scraped anything (exhaust-wise)....
But of course, I had a different exhaust. |

Coworker had a decent idea, attach an aluminum can to simulate the lowest point and drive around for a week or two and should be able to gauge the results from that. Will look silly with the can for a bit but it should give me a decent idea of scraping or not. Also thought about going back to AAM to see if they can raise the exhaust up a bit.

I think the Ark has pretty low clearance as well... I remember Eastwest complaining about scraping on stock height on his way to one of the meets. :)
