Default Just a recommendation to you all... (diff fluid change)

Get your rear diff fluid changed.

So today I had my rear diff fluid changed out to redline fluid, and the crap that came out of the rear diff was just plain bad. Ive got 1700 miles on my car and the oil looked like it had 100000 miles on it. I noticed after somewhat spirited driving, there was always this light burning smell, nothing too bad, but definitely a little noticeable. I dont really notice any difference in driving/performance but it gives me peace of mind that I no longer have a crud filled differential.

I did this because a lot of other people changed out their fluid and theirs was disgusting. I had the same outcome. Just takes two quarts of 75w-90 gear oil and you're set.

No, we all have rear differentials, the sports package just has a limited slip differential.

I changed mine at 2000km's and it was putrid. Full synthetic in there now and I feel much better. Almost at 20,000km's now so I will change it again soon.... just to be safe!

The LSD clutches leave some particles in the fluid. Not sure it'll really matter as it'll be dirty again in short order if you get on it a lot. Same thing in my Challenger.

So no clutches? Interesting. Manual state to change at 30K ?

I take it no friction modifier is required? I need to read up on that.

Where'd you pick up your transmission oil? and are you sure it only takes 2 quarts?

the rear diff only takes two quarts, the transmission oil you dont need to touch for awhile. Not sure how many quarts of transmission oil you need.
