I was actually sitting next to a guy on a plane the other day that mentioned his GTR had outperformed his portfolio.

He bought in July 09 for ~$70K, and could sell it today for $65K.

Apparently holding 93% of it's value was more than could be said for his 401K

I bought my '09 base 370z for 28k and sold it for 25.5k 2 years later. What happened was that in 08 when the market crashed, people stopped leasing cars. Well, all of those leased cars would have hit the used car market and since lenders weren't exactly giving credit away, you had a unique situation where used cars were really in demand.
