I was watching it at work with some of my cousins (who are Ravens fans) and at the end of the game we were going through periods of panic and slightly less panic.

I was saying they should just go for the TD or 1st down on 4th down instead of attempting the FG...

Yeah but I think they were also assuming a 32 yd field goal was pretty much guaranteed to be good.

Yeah I definitely understand that thought process, but I felt like the way they were playing they would lose in OT... so their only shot IMO was to go for 7 or the 1st down to buy more time.

I understand why they wouldn't risk that, though. Coaches would never hear the end of it.

Same here. I would have tried to run 1 yd to get the 1st down and then try to get the TD pass.

I think it was 3rd down on their last drive when Flacco had a shot at running the 3 or 4 yards from where he was to get a first down but instead he pretty much threw it away.

The problem is it's impossible for the coaching staff to defend that call if they failed to get the 1st down.
