It's from the movie dodgeball, just like the quote from Steve's post.

Nope, just the face of the rim (the part that faces the outside).

Since it's not really a surprise anymore, I'll just post the pics in here. I plasti dipped my wheels gunmetal and they came out really nice.

Looks good, but now you've gotta do something about the door handles... :icon17:

Was thinking about plasti dipping them the same color as the wheels since I have some left over, but I don't really want that texture for the door handles. IMO they look ok silver since I left the center caps silver too. Might do the emblems though.

Yeah, plasti-dip on the door handles would be a bad idea. But you could paint them the same color. The door handles stick out more to their larger size. The center caps/lugs are fine since they are small and a detail item.

I'm out of moneyz!!!!! :roflpuke2:

Need to replace my shift knob. I wish I could pull off red. Would love to use the textured knob I have in the S2000 in the 5.0. But it would probably look out of place. Nothing else is red in the interior aside from the gauges at night.

Are you considering adding any more red to the 5.0?

m4a1mustang 03-20-2012 09:09 PM

Nah. It's cool, I'm just gonna drop $172 shipped on a freakin' TWM shift knob. :bowrofl:

There really aren't any other choices as far as quality weighted shift knobs go.

The unweighted acrylic aftermarket knob I have now managed to develop a crack so I need to replace it. I've been meaning to get a weighted one for a while now anyways.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-A...320_165146.jpg

So the plan is just to get a pearl white TWM in the same style.

In the S2000 I have this one (it looks bright orange because of the sun but it's really a medium-dark red) which is textured and weighted. It feels awesome. They also make it in the ball style like I have on the 5.0.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-_...226_103718.jpg

TWM is the ****, though. Just gets pricey when you option it out (pearl finish, engraved), and they rape you on shipping.

XwChriswX 03-20-2012 09:17 PM

The top one looks cool, like a custom etched cue ball.

Guess that's just one of the accepted ghey tendencies of 'Manual' drivers...

...What sort of ball do you want to cup while you drive. :icon14:

m4a1mustang 03-20-2012 09:19 PM

:icon17:

Yeah I like the cueball style, at least on the 5.0, which is why I'm ok with spending  $172  on a replacement.

It's slightly annoyed as this wasn't a planned expense.

Most arent. But that's the nature of these things... Next time you need to be better about checking your balance daily. One withdrawal can save an entire life savings... :ugh2:

This weekend? If that's alright with Steevie... I noticed he's boycotted the MD meets since I've been showing up.

If I had those, I wouldn't even go to ZDayZ. I'd be too busy driving my Aventador on the Nurburgring. :icon17:

Sure. It's not that difficult. Only need the right sizes of sockets and deep wells, fladhead screwdrivier, spray lube, and some towels.

Nothing a 5-Hour energy won't fix.

Or you could just man-up. :stirthepot:

I'll throw the tools in my trunk and bring them with me, and we can do it there.
