Newby looking for power mods for '10 370Z
I am new to 370s (all Nissans for that matter) but not new to tuning / mod.ing engines on my own.
I am looking optimally for not-terribly-invasive engine mod.s. I.e. air intakes & software. Would like to keep all relatively reversable for warranty reasons. What's best / hot out there for '10 370? I know this is an oversimplified and basic question so thanks for help. If someone asked me this about a Porsche or Mercedes I'd be thinking "boy what a newbie, where should I begin?".... so again thanks and if need any clarifying questions asked or narrowing down please let me know. |
I'd go to a car meet up, we have them often, in Fairfax and in Columbia MD, you could see what a lot of the guys around here have done. Its a pretty cool experience.

Stillen Intakes.
High Flow Cats. Cat Back exhaust. UpRev retune... Or save up a bit and put in a supercharger. But then again I did not care about the power train portion of my warranty... |

I have a freind who has a 300zx turbo that he bought with some Stillen upgrades on it, actually I think the Stillen shop itself did turbo upgrades on it. It is pretty fast car.... not really controllable.... but fast if you can keep it going straight! LOL Any particular exhaust / cats that you recommend? I'm guessing cats will likely be more than I'm looking to spend on this car rt. now. I presume this UpRev (which I haven't looked at - at all yet) will take into acct. any intake and exhaust mod.s? Not really trying to throw a blower on it at this point but I'm sure that adds for some excitement. When ur doing things like supercharges on these cars how robust are the heads/headgaskets and transmissions? Thanks again. |
Check out fast intentions!!! They have an outstanding reputation and Tony's customer service is top knotch..

Exhaust is highly preferential. I found the F.I. exhausts to have drone and that is a deal killer for me. I am a fan of the Ark exhaust (even though I am running a take off Nismo) no drone and deep. EastWest has one I think if you want to hear it locally. UpRev is the company that makes the tuning software. You get a copy when you go get a dyno tune from the local tuners around here. Supercharger, Motor and drive train seem to mix very well, Many users on the forum with the GTM and nothing blown so far as I have heard. Clutch is good to about 500whp. Transmissions seem to be holding up well unless it is an auto and then there are fixes for the auto out there. |

I'd take the advice of the Z God (Kirkster)

Intakes: Stillen CAI or k&n drop in filters and post maf tubes
Exhaust: Fast Intentions Headers: Fast Intentions or PPE (only long tube headers are worth it, stay away from shorties, the stock tubular exhaust manifolds are actually pretty good) Tune: Uprev (only choice really since COBB dropped the Z platform like a bad habit, but Uprev is really good) I'm personally not comfortable with underdrive/lightweight pullies but some folks run them here, good for freeing up 2-5whp. Lightweight flywheel will also do /\ x1000 about going to a local meet and seeing folks cars in person and what they've done, will give you a much better idea of where you want to go. |

But use the 300 bucks you saved by getting the hoses and K&N filters and apply it towards stillen sways or swift springs. |
