Fix'd.

For street races with temporary stands they usually predict crowds pretty well. But at a dedicated track that has, say, 100,000 seats... Indy usually puts 10-20k in the stands.

Well, it wasn't because the race undersold...

An estimated 75,000 spectators turned out to see Will Power score a dominant victory over Oriol Servia and Tony Kanaan, pulling him within five points of championship leader Dario Franchitti.

The massive turnout quieted the doubters who had criticized efforts to stage a street race in Baltimore's Inner Harbor district.

The only Indy wreck I know of was Kanaan running into Castroneves during a practice run, and that was due to brake failure.

There were several series running races this weekend: Indy, ALMS, F2000, Star Mazda, and 1 or 2 others.

:icon17: Steve, I must say the last time I did the Indy 500 in Indianapolis most of the folks were getting slammed outside the tracks in massive tailgating parties. It felt like my hears were bleeding when I left the place ;).

haha it really was, people had to yell for me to hear for a good 2 weeks after that. It was fun seeing head snap as fast as possible trying to keep up with the racers flying by.
