I will speak from experience,I smoked for 18 years and I am only 34,I have been smoke free for 2 months,I know its a very short time, but trust me every person including myself thought I would never quit.

I am gonna give you some advice, its free advice, take it if you want...

Go to the local pharmacy and get the following items, stick with your patch if you want.

Go get the 4 following items.

Vitamin C
Magnesium
Chlorella
Cream of Tarter
Orange Juice.

Will cost you about $50 bucks.

Vitamin C,is pretty straight forward...for healing and recovery
Magnesium to calm down the anxiety
Chlorella-Super Food, has all the vitamins and minerals your body needs and the most important function will be to repair the DNA in your lungs
Cream of Tarter, take this for one week at the end of the night before bed,mix one tea spoon in a citrus drink, this will help remove the nicotine from your lungs.

If you need more info PM me.

Lastly, another motivation for me was money,my dream car was a GTR,smoking and drinking costs me well over 1K a month, thats a GTR payment...well 2 months after quitting smoking I just put a deposit on a 370Z,will be in my possession in a week,I know its not a GTR but its the next best thing, quitting smoking just brought me one step close to my GTR,being able to be around and watch my son grow up,lowering my insurance premiums was a huge saving, smoker to non smoker rate is huge.

Anyways enough of the rant.

I wish you the best on this, Manny. Sounds like a good plan. To me, in the end, it takes willpower. Take control of your life back, man. Andrew is successful thus far. I've been successful. You can do it. Get your GTR

Thanks for the advice Manny, I stopped using the patch a long time ago and different things work for different people. I've been smoke free for a year now and there's still an occasional rough spot here and there but the most important thing is your will power to stick to it and not let yourself slip. We both have a long way to go in this venture.
