Llumar tint anyone?
Does anyone here have Llumar tint? I need to get the Z tinted and I've read some reviews of D&L Tinting up in White Marsh but they don't use Llumar tint. I suppose the 3M tint will do if I can't find a shop that does Llumar.

Oh god, please do not go to the D&L Tinting in White Marsh. You should read about what happened to me there, it will make you never want to go there.

Where ever you go, you wanna find out if the tint will eevr fade, if you buy cheap tint, thats what usually happens over time, I use to work at a tint shop, look into Formula 1, they make very good tint.

Yeah but its good to have both the positive and negative reviews and weigh them out for yourself. Mine was the most recent experience there though, I believe.
You should also check out HP Racing in Glen Burnie. I've heard good this about them and they aren't as far as White Marsh. That's where the other Brian on here got his done. |

I was hoping to get Llumar Ceramic tint but D&L only has 3M for the ceramic line. $320 seems like alot for this small car since I got Llumar ceramic for 260 on my Cherokee.

I got mine done from Xlnt Tint down in Owings, MD (NOT Owings Mills). They have Huper Optik ceramic film and they did mine for $160. I got the Carbon for mine, but the Ceramic is the same price.

I just got my Windows tinted with llamar formula one pinnacle series (ceramic). If you go to the formula one tint site you will find authorized installer. I went with 15% all around and in pearl white it is a sexy beast. 320 cash. Plus I'm having our 2010 e350 4dr Benz done for the same price. You pay for what you get. If your in so cal I would recommend Steve's professional window tinting in upland. Good luck. One thing I wanna add. "3m makes good double sticky tape and bandaides..." Go with the formula one ceramic if you love your Z.

Here's the skinny on window tint films. First, check your local laws to determine the legal darkness limits for window films to prevent fines and having to remove and repalce it. Second, metallic films will interfere with radio signals for phones, GPS, satellite radio, etc. Third, most any warranty is for a pro-rated cost of the film and does not cover labor. If you buy a decent product/brand you should not need to be overly concerned with the warranty.
American Standard Window Film (ASWF) (Erickson International) in Las Vegas manufactures window films, including ceramic window tint films, for many of the window film companies. 3M makes very good window film products and is available from most any reputable window tint shop. Eastman bought Solutia, which owns Vista, Huper Optik, Llumar, Formula1, Gila, EnerLogic, Sun-X, V-KOOL, and other brands. While Solutia companies offer good window tint films they are marketed at different price points. Of these, Huper Optik is way overpriced and Llumar offers good value for your money. Other products are available from Madico, Johnson, SolarGard, Solar Control, and SunTek. What Is The Best Value? From talking to many window tinting companies, that offer several competing product lines, the universal agreement seems to be that Sun-Gard (by Madico), Llumar and 3M offer the best value for your money. Paying a premium price does not mean that you necessarily get a better, or better performing, window tint film. Hope this helps! |
