Baltimore Auto Show

Went to the auto show last night. It's been a few years since I was able to go, and this year i was far from impressed. Several car manufacturers were missing (Porsche, BMW, a few others), and I felt Nissan had a poor showing. When asking the Nissan sales rep, they did NOT bring any Z or GTRs, and she was not sure why Nissan didn't send any. The Nissan booth (when I was there anyways) was practically empty, meanwhile the corvette concept was so crowded you would have thought they were giving away free nachos.

Poor showing Nissan, makes me curious if they are really putting their back behind supporting the Z, or if they will kill it off in a year or two :shakes head:

Hate to rain on your parade, but it is the BALTIMORE auto show...

Not a major stop on the auto show circuit Hon...

They even canceled the annual Arenacross in the City that Breeds...

Arenacross was a tradition for my gang of friends.

:iagree:

The DC Show is bigger than Baltimore and it still sucks. :icon17:

The shows to go to in the US are LA, Detroit, Chicago, and NY.

It's no slight on Baltimore. It's just a slight on that particular Motor Trend event. I've gone. It's fun, but you're not going to see anything bleeding edge. You will see some fancy cars, but not many concepts or anything. DC's not anything big, either.

Just like Steve said, the big US ones are LA, Det, Chi, and NY. Big worldwide ones include Geneva, Tokyo, Paris, and I think there may be a Chinese show that's picking up steam.

I'm excited about the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. The new Lambo is going to be revealed, the one that will replace the Murcielago. That would be exciting to see. One of my friends went to the Baltimore show and said the only interesting cars there were the Corvette concept and the IPL G coupe.

Yeah. If you're going to the Bmore show to see new concepts, you're leaving disappointed. If you're a car nut that wants to see some manufacturer showing off their existing models, maybe see some older concepts, and see things like a Lambo up close, then it's a fun day out just geeking out on cars.

Seattle also puts on a pretty darned good auto show. I haven't been in the last four years but when I did go back in 2005 it was great. Back then at least.
