Don't Ever Go to D&L Tinting in White Marsh!!!

So after everyone told me they got their tint done from D&L Tinting in White Marsh, I thought I would get it done from there too. I called them and got a price for the windows, but said I had to bring my car in for an estimate for the tail lights. I told them I would come in so they can look at it and give me a price. When I get there, they are really nice. They take my keys and pull my car into the garage. They gave me a price of $160 for the windows and $200 for the tail lights. I said that it was way too expensive and told him I had quotes from 2 other shops that both said $270 for both. I said "never mind, I'm going to get it done from somewhere else." Then I wait for them to pull my car out and bring me back my keys. 2 minutes later, I peek into the garage and the bastards are already putting the tint on my car after I told them I was leaving and getting it done from somewhere else. I banged on the garage and told them that I had said no to getting the tint. The manager then comes in and demands that I pay $75 for the tint film they had already cut. I said hell no! The manager then said "we've got your keys and you're not going anywhere until you give us $75". After a few minutes of arguing he calls me a jerk and tells me to just leave because he doesn't want to deal with me right now.

This was freaking unbelievable and I was shocked at their horrible customer service and attempt to scam me. I actually thought I would have to call the police to be able to leave that POS shop.

Wow, sorry to hear, man. Obviously, I wouldn't have recommended them if I knew you'd have this experience.

I will look into it the BBB report. On a more positive note, I've been talking to someone at a place called Xlnt Tint and they are actually really nice and helpful. They are asking $265 for windows and tail lights. The only things is that tinting for cars is only a small part of their business so they can only work on cars on Fridays. However, the guy was willing to do it on a different day to adjust for my school schedule. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. Jon from AAM recommended this place and said some of his GT-R customers went there. I don't think my experience can get any worse.

I got mine done at LA Tint in Sterling and they did a good job.

I got my tint done at Contour Tint out in Chantilly. Guy did a great job, lifetime warranty too in case any air bubbles happen to pop up. Everything is computer cut for an exact match.

Oh, and they quoted me about $100 to do both tails in a tinted clearcoat (just an FYI)

whoah... $100 to darken the tail lights? did you have yours done, if you did, can you post up some pictures of the work, please?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Yeah, I mentioned some of my GT-R customers going to Xlnt Tint, and this is one of them:

Taillights:

He said they even had some extra film leftover, and he wanted to know what it would look like on his headlamps. They threw it on for him free of charge!

He has since removed the film on his headlamps, and his car is very different now. Talking to him, he's had nothing but good things to say about the company. I don't remember the exact percentage, but he's had his front windshield done, his side windows, quarter windows, and rear window. I hope they can give you better service than D&L.

Yeah Xlnt Tint is also asking $100 for tail lights and $20 for the brake light. I'm going there at around 1-2 pm today. I will post pics when I get home.

GM, I don't think your tail lights were tinted when I saw your Maxima two weeks ago. Did you get them done? When I had my Maxima I wanted to get them tinted too, but the car didn't last that long.

The pics of the GT-R look amazing Jon. The service and prices from Xlnt Tint have been excellent so far, thanks a lot for the recommendation!
