Mod Plans for the Year???

Well gang. Its binary day, I know we all have mod plans this year (except for Frank as he does not mod).

What is everyone thinking about doing to their rides this year. I got started early with the coilovers in mid december.

I am going to do a supercharger this spring, once the supercharger fund is at the appropriate level. Will probably do the install myself but take her over to Hills for a final check on the tune.

I also plan on installing a Kiwi Wifi + iMFD module so I can better monitor what is going on with the engine.

Finally if i get really ambitious I am going to replace the triple gauges on the dashboard, but that will require finding another dashboard out of a totaled 370..

red6spd 01-01-2011 09:29 AM

Oil cooler, audio stuff, and maybe some suspension bits.

Kirkster 01-01-2011 09:51 AM

Oh yea, Oil cooler is a must this year...

cdoxp800 01-01-2011 10:28 AM

Install my Rotora BBK Kit. (Red)
  • Front 2pc 14in 6 piston Kit
  • Rear 2pc 14in 4 piston Kit
Oil Cooler
15mm Spacers
Y-pipe change on my Nismo
K&N drop ins and HPS pipes
GTR Red Start-Stop Button
Audio install
Black out headlights

Just a few to start.

metz 01-01-2011 01:28 PM

Full audio install
Headlight mods
Cf body kit
Cf strasse wheels
Painted handles

PapoZalsa 01-01-2011 04:56 PM

Rims and tires
Audio
Springs or Coilover
Camber kit
Maybe spacers
Paint the fangs, front lip and rear area between the exhaust pipes
Might do a SC late in the year

Kirkster 01-02-2011 10:31 AM

Soooooo.... Nobody in MID-A has any mod plans besides PapoZalsa, and I.

I am pretty sure that Tony will put something else blue on his car this year so he really doesn't count.

As for the rest of you slackers....

m4a1mustang 01-02-2011 10:50 AM

Haha you should have posted this up in the Starbucks thread to keep the outsiders out!

As for me... I'm focusing on some other things this year so not much aside from routine maintenance will be done with the Mustang. I might do intake/tune and a short shifter this year, but that is probably it.

2012 might be big though. My 2011 year end bonus will probably go toward a supercharger and suspension.

ZCarMan 01-02-2011 12:58 PM

Will likely do coilovers and a new set of tires. Not sure which type just yet.

Tony is going to do Version 6, 7 and probably 8 this year.

flashburn 01-02-2011 05:37 PM

This year I'm going to be cutting back drastically. The only thing I will definitely be doing is getting a set of tires (probably RE-11's) for a spare set of 18's that I have for the track. The only other possible thing I might buy is Sway Bars, but that's it. Not to say I won't be spending money on my car, because I will, but it will be going towards track fee's and traveling expenses.

Nah. You just barely qualify as a Mid-Aer... it all those other people from FL, LA, CA that can't figure out that this post is in the Mid-A section of the forum...

All the Ballers are in Mid-A, hence our 2500+ post lead in the regional forum section...

Blah blah blah, screw you! :)

Honestly, I just click on "New Posts" a few times each day, and see if anything interests me. The title alone doesn't sound like something that would be in regional.

Heh...

Now don't make me sic shadoquad on ya!!!

VaGntlmn 01-02-2011 06:14 PM

I think I'll look into lowering the car.
Performance Tuning in Manassas has the Tanabe springs which would lower it about an inch front and back.

It is in the Mid-A Regional Section, at least 10 hours driving away from Florida... ;)

Anyway that is my Resolutuion for 2011, move to Florida.

Kirkster 01-02-2011 08:06 PM

Florida.... Meh...

7 months of sweating your balls off. Followed by 2 months of nice weather. Followed by a month of where the Fu*K can I find a sweater. And another months of nice weather before it is time to start sweating again...

Yea I know that is only 11 months, but you can expect to have a month of uncertainty/dodging hurricanes to round things out.

Not that I am any happier in in the Peoples Republic of MD mind you...

m4a1mustang 01-02-2011 08:25 PM

Hey, despite all the traffic the DC area is still one of the better places to live.

03threefiftyz 01-02-2011 08:33 PM

Jeffblue 01-02-2011 09:42 PM

1. Nismo exhaust ( used )
2. Powdercoated red calipers
3. SS brake lines and new brake fluid
4. 25 row Oil cooler

I did pretty well last year on my destroyed VLSD and spent R888's. Hoping to contend for some FTD's with PCA, BMW, and maybe CDC. Should dominate BSP in D.C. region unless some evos start to show up....

Jessobear 01-03-2011 06:50 AM

I never had plans to do much to the car and already did most of it (Nismo exhaust, FI HFC's, K&N filters, 15mm spacers) in the first two months I've had the car. For 2011 there are only two things on the docket:

1. KW Variant 1 coilovers (ordered in December, on backorder)
2. EVO-R front lip (bought a used one, waiting to see WDRead's installed before I paint/install it)

4r3s 01-03-2011 07:41 AM

1. New wheels, looking at advan rs-d
2. If AAM ever gets their act together a cai
3. maybe motordyne intake manifold...maybe
4. Cobb Access port and a tune if I get either of the previous two mods.
5. Evo-r front lip, im on the fence with this one. Don't want to do a body kit on the whole car so not sure if it would look strange with just the lip.

#1 is the only definite in the list at this point.

I prefer to sweat my balls 7 to 8 months a year and not deal with this freaking cold and snow. As far as dodging hurricanes I'm used to it, been there done that for almost 20 yrs before I moved to the US.

Plus I tired of all this car laws and property tax in VA.

shadoquad 01-03-2011 08:26 AM

Custom Seats
Buying Steve's Injen long tube CAI's from his old Z
Thinking of doing a custom button to pop my rear hatch and/or installing a handle for easier closing
few other small things - not looking to touch performance until the warranty is up.

3SeventyZ 01-03-2011 09:30 AM

Thought about adding some suede pieces to the interior.
Painting the door handles and Z emblems.
Back-up cam goes in next week, hopefully.
Some other small things here and there.

Shoehorn a VQ37VHR into my engine bay somehow...

No seriously...

1) Blacked out grille
2) Factory Spoiler
3) 5000K Phillips HID kit
4) Hyper Silver Breyton GTS-AV 19x8.5 wheels

Most of this will probably have to wait until 2012 though!

We just packed up Lee's M3 till the evos get reclassed to where they belong.

AWDSP

My Z might make an appearance in BSP this year. But will probably skip past that to be an "also ran" in SM2 with the SC that is in the planning...
