Looking for a new Z

I'm looking to pick up a 370Z really soon and wondering which dealership in our area that you guys had the best experience and recieved the best deals from. I checked out some of the other threads on the forum but didnt see anything for our area. I'm really aiming to find a base with sport package but it seems like touring wiht sport is more common of whats left of the 2010's in our area. I'm looking around centreville, fairfax, manassas area but theres a good amount of dealerships in our area id be willing to travel to for the best price. Let me know what you guys recommend and even if you have a sales person you recommend. Thanks for the help!

I bought mine from Brown's Fairfax Nissan back in '09 and had a good experience.

BTW, welcome to the forum! You should stop by for one of our weekly Starbucks meets. This weekend we will be in Bowie, MD, but next weekend we'll be at the Starbucks in Fair Lakes (by the Kohl's).

Magaton370Z 11-11-2010 01:50 PM

Thanks! I havnt made it to browns yet.. actually ive only stopped by the dealership in chantilly as of now.. I definately plan on stopping by there soon since they are pretty close too..

Thanks for the welcome man... I'll definately have to make it out to one of the meets one day.. hopefully in my new z.. but first.. i gotta sell the rsx and get myself a good deal...

m4a1mustang 11-11-2010 01:53 PM

No problem! Are you selling the RSX privately or are you considering a trade as well?

I traded my Civic in when I bought my Z and Brown's matched the offer I had from CarMax which was very fair.

Magaton370Z 11-11-2010 02:03 PM

I was looking to sell privately.. but i'm definately oging to have to see what they offer me as a trade in.. I guess i should take it to carmax to see what they offer too! I wish i coudl trade in my bike with the car... its oging to be hard selling the gsxr this time of year..

tooohip 11-11-2010 02:26 PM

Welcome to the Mid-A forums. CarMax seems to be the way to go to get it done fast. Esp. if you can bring that offer to the dealer and have them match. A Co-worker just sold his 350z to CarMax and got blue book.

ZCarMan 11-11-2010 02:48 PM

Welcome! I purchased my Z from Mile Hill in Silver Spring, MD when I was living in Stafford, VA. I used my USAA guaranteed pricing and worked that between several of the dealerships in and around. There is Chantilly Nissan, Cowles Nissan in Woodbridge, Sheehy Nissan all over in VA and MD. My experience with Mile Hill in Silver Spring was excellent. When you finally get your Z we'll look forward to seeing it at one of our meets in Fairfax.

Of my last three purcahse I have used USAA, is a great tool for pricing. I guess Carmax is working for some guys too. GL finding a good price on the Z.

Brown's was the best buying experience I've ever had...the trade paid off my 350z and I got invoice on a '10 NISMO. See if you can talk to Sharon Connacher.

Chantilly tried to take me for everything I was worth, and thought I was a dumb kid walking in there. Any of the Sheehy's are decent...there's enough of them to shop around and their service is decent.

m4a1mustang 11-11-2010 06:45 PM

I agree about Brown's, I had a great experience there.

If you can't get what you want locally, contact forum sponsor Lou Fusz (FuszNissan) and he will hook you up (he's out in St. Louis). I bought my Mustang from him.

Kirkster 11-11-2010 07:00 PM

you can also look at Carmax whitemarsh. they have new ones at good prices...

dropped1 11-12-2010 07:09 AM

There are a ton of Z's down here in VA beach at Hall Nissan - even a 40th. FYI

Magaton370Z 11-12-2010 07:56 AM

Thanks alot guys! I'll probalby try and stop by browns soon... but i checked the inventory there and looks like they only got black cherry which wasnt really a color i was going for... But iwht your recommendations I definately still want to go there and check them out. Thanks for all the help!

If they don't have one in stock that you want they may be able to track one down locally.

They seem to have excellent below invoice pricing.
Has anyone bought a new one from them?

My brother bought his Xterra from them. He had a good experience.

But it's worth pointing out that:
  • that price is the one you're getting. there is no haggling them down.
  • they will still try to screw you on financing the deal, just like every other dealer. do your homework before setting foot in their showroom.

m4a1mustang 11-12-2010 10:08 AM

Just get financed before you go to the dealer.

You don't have to do that, although it is a good idea. After all, if a dealer is advertising some sick rate, it may be worth doing it through them.

But at the same time, know what rate you can qualify for before walking in the door, and don't accept anything higher.

I would get financing beforehand, so you KNOW what rate you're going to pay. If the dealer can beat that, awesome, but definitely don't go in there intent on financing through the dealer.

The price they list seems to beat most local dealers
I'll be paying cash so the financing is not an issue.

The prices that dealers list are intentionally higher, though. You are meant to go in and haggle them down.

Carmax prices always hover right around invoice, but you can get most dealers to sell at or below invoice.

Do some research. I mean, the ball is in your court right now. Worst case scenario, you can buy at carmax for X price. You can always check around and see if a dealer is willing to beat that.

I understand dealer pricing, whitemarsh carmax sells their Z's for about
$1,600 under invoice

2010 Nissan 370Z Touring in White Marsh, MD- 6719387 at carmax.com

No, you didn't. And I don't want to come off as condescending or anything in my posts. I aim to be helpful. I honestly hope you get the deal you're after, and then I hope you enjoy your Z as much as I do mine! :D

Magaton370Z 11-12-2010 11:59 AM

Looks like the prices at car max arnt bad at all! I will definately keep them in mind and possibly use them to try and get the dealer to beat it or match it since car max doesnt seem to have the color and package combo i'm looking for.. Again, thanks for all the help everyone! This forum seems to be alot nicer and more helpful then some of the others ive been on!

tooohip 11-12-2010 12:02 PM

I remember when you told me about it. Yeah, you got a fantastic deal there.:iagree:

Kirkster 11-12-2010 01:40 PM

Just print the car max add for the car out and show it to the dealer. Now the dealer will whine that the car max car is a stripped down version which is total BS. Tell them to meet the price and if they balk at doing so just thank them for their time and start walking. You may or may not make it out the door but it is worth doing. DO NOT PAY MORE THAN CARMAX PRICING, less is better but you may have to go see the Panda for that...

And as far as Shadoquad goes be careful and don't turn your back on him.:leghump::nutswinger:

And welcome to the Mid-A mayhem section of the forum...

:icon18: I definitely agree with Kirk, though. You should never pay more than CarMax prices, and you should never sell an outgoing car for less.

2theextreme 11-12-2010 01:49 PM

I got a two great deals on two 09 370's at Passport Nissan @ Alexandria. Just make sure never to do one single modification to your car and they will welcome you back with open arms. :ugh2:

No, I am not exaggerating....they told me to never come back and all I had was Berk HFC's, Stillen exhaust & Gen. III intakes, Volk TE-37's, Potenza RE-11's, and BR coilovers. Wanted them to install my blue kickplates and get the TPMS sensors working on the RE-11's....everything else was already installed @ AAM. They did it but then the service manager took me in his office and told me to get out and to never come back. Customer loyalty at its finest!!
