Harry Grove. I remember auto-xing there. Man that is a small lot.

You all need to find some bigger lots..

03threefiftyz 09-11-2010 05:57 AM

It's my least favorite of the lots (and the smallest). We have been using Winchester a fair bit, and it is much larger. Mercedes club is running at that lot on Sunday, but rain appears imminent tomorrow.

We used to get Ripkin stadium all the time. Then they had some events on the lot with the big tents and they drove stakes through the asphalt and the lot started having problems. Next thing we know the city shut us down because the lot was getting "damaged" by us running there.

Oh well, time was running out on that site because of the new hotel and the town homes going up around there.

It is hard to get good lots around here.

Well.....stainless clutch line failed. Took it to the shop, replaced it, tested it thoroughly, and was fine the whole drive home until I got to the exit ramp before my house...............then no pressure in the clutch pedal again. Not leaking any fluid, but somehow the pivot ball in the trans has now broken and is bouncing around in the trans making a nice tinny noise. Going to have to pull the trans and replace it. Not sure if it will be fixed in time for Cumberland next week .

In summary....epic fail.

Mike, I see you’re on the list. Did you get everything fixed?

Any other takers out there in forum land? Just imagine it as an ordinary hard parking (for those who don’t know the term Urban Dictionary: hard parking) event but you actually get to drive.

Keep in mind that a bone stock 370Z (or pretty much any other car) is perfectly capable of competing in auto-X.

Yeah...I got it buttoned up early in the AM of Friday to get to Cumberland in time. Unfortunately...I had to take a shot in the dark in terms of air pressures, etc for the R888's on Saturday. I really could have won BSP up there this weekend, but ended up 3rd. All of the other cars in class were on hoosiers.

You should really try to make it up there for the Oct.23/24 event. You could probably take 2nd in C stock. Rob Robeson and his well prepped RX8 on hoosiers is pretty untouchable up there in C stock though.

Maybe I will try to make it out for that event.

I definitely know Rob, he has bben my instructor at Summit Point on many occasions. There is no way that I am beating him.

40.24!

Damn Mike you really kicked a$$ this week! Very nice time.

That was one event that I wished I could drive the afternoon heat. But I doubt I could have shaved two seconds...

I'm glad one of us could show that a Z can mix it up with the Miata's and Cobras.

I had a good weekend....super consistent. My slowest run of the day was ~41.1....and not a cone all day. I was really hoping to get down into the 39's, but it wasn't meant to be. The R888's were really getting good on the 3rd runs in each heat. They take a while to heat up, but they are sticky. The big turn out was awesome. It was also really nice to get some of the other scca heavy hitters to come out and run for comparison stake.

It seemed like most people ran about the same as their morning runs. The temperatures just got too warm after about 12pm for the street tire guys. I think my best morning run was ~40.4.

The Oct. 9 event should be another good one! A group of newbies with 350z's will be poppin' their collective cherries. Perhaps some 370's will join?

I plan to run SCCA this Sunday......you have any interest in registering for that event?

Kirkster 09-28-2010 06:12 PM

Doh...

03threefiftyz 09-28-2010 08:22 PM

?

ResIpsa 09-29-2010 08:34 PM

I will run in BS...

I signed up for the Sunday event but accidently chose BS. Oops…

03threefiftyz 09-29-2010 08:43 PM

I think you can edit your entry....but yeah you should be in C-stock. There is like 240 entries for Sunday.

ResIpsa 09-30-2010 09:21 AM

Confused.

I have been reading the SCCA rules and getting even more confused. I think my oil cooler and brake ducts knock me into Street Prepared.

I will post the question in the official auto cross thread and see if I can get an answer.
