Does your state has car property tax?

In this Commowealth of VA they don't waste time. For My Z is $270.00 every 6 months. :mad:

Damn, that sucks! Only registration fees every year over here.

Our state allows us to claim the registration tax on the return. It's not much, but every bit counts.

Mine was right at $500 last year when I renewed my tag and registration (July '09). Hopefully this year it drops a little now that it is one model year old (the millage is tied to the retail book value)

We can claim the car property tax in the state tax, but still sucks. Oh I forgot the county registration. :shakes head:

Remind me never to register my car there. If I transfer there, I'm going to have to figure out a way to keep my plates.

You can keep your plates from another state if you are in the Armed Forces. ;)

I paid $380 a few months ago...I'm guessing it will be around $500 to $600 when property taxes are due again.

For all three of my cars I pay over $1,000 a year on property taxes and county fees.

i thought VA only pays once a year!

Certain parts of Virginia do....it was twice a year when I lived in Hampton Roads.....seems it hasn't changed.

Last year I think I paid 500 every six months in Fairfax.

Pretty sure it is an annual tax -- at least mine is - due NLT 5 Oct. I get a really nice (NOT) bill for a 2010 Z, a 2009 Altima, and a 2003 Ram......

well the good news is the bill shrinks each year :)

wow! i've been in virginia beach for quite some time. i always paid one time. i would have a cow if i had to pay twice.

Nope, some places in Hampton Roads is once a year in others is every 6 months. You can also set it up to pay every month.
