We've gotta organize fun stuff like this

I confess, I've done a few trips to philly just for a cheesesteak or two and then back to MD. Post a date, the wife and I are in!

With my wacky schedule and honey-do list, I'm forced to be more of a last-minute scheduler these days... hopefully that will change some day.

I hate to bring this post up again, but why don't you hang out with fellow drivers that actually love to drive their cars. At an autocross, ages range from 18 year olds in the best vehicle they can afford (usually barely street worthy) to retired enthusiasts in replica Cobras and Daytona's.

All the pretense that goes along with the newest coil overs, long tube intakes, and carbon fiber crap dissolves when a kid in a 1988 Honda Civic schools a 2009 Mustang.

No one talks sh*t because they know that they will have to put their money where their mouth is.

I regret not getting involved in autocross earlier. I am partial to my clubhttp://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/ but check out autocrossers inc. and the local BMW clubs.

We do plan on doing stuff like that, too, but it's nice to be able to grab a cup of coffee and talk about nothing but Z's.

I know a few of us in the group plan on doing some HPDEs in the summer.

Not sure how this has to do with the topic, but I may do an auto-cross. However, I'm more of a "get out in the country" type of driver. ;-)

I agree. I would go to the Auto X's but I won't run. They aren't for me. I stick to the VIRs and Summits and what not. Oh and I like hitting up the 1/8th and 1/4 mile every now and then.

start small and work our way up?

1hr or so coffee break seems like a good start.

I was born into a 1/4 mile family, so thats where I spent my early years, never been to an autox event.
