Just a caution... I probably wouldn't buy any one ammo in bulk right off the bat. I'd buy a smaller amount of a variety of different types for testing... see what your gun likes best then stock up.

Personally I use "Federal - American Eagle" for both my Rifle and my Sig Sauer P226 handgun.

Cheaper steel/aluminum cased ammo tend not to feed as reliability as brass. And most of the steel case ammo is manufactured in Russia or China, which means they are reserved for AKs.

Federal is good stuff. I stock up on their Champion series that is available at Wally World for my 9mm handguns.

I've heard Wolf or TulAmmo is great for an AK47, but I'd never run it through an AR.. Certainly not one that cost over $2k LOL

Well, you don't until you try.
I'd just go to cheaperthandirt.com for now and sort the 5.56 target ammo by price. Read reviews and order a few boxes of a few different brands that get good feedback and give it a shot. Also keep in mind the weight of your bullets and the twist of your barrel... I believe some of the more aggressive twists don't like the heavier bullets, but I'm no expert on rifles. You'd have to ask Darren.

It seems as if you save money when you buy in bulk, I'd just like to buy 500 rounds and not have to buy any for a while.

Well I buy in bulk, but only after I've verified that the ammo works well in my application.
