I'm unsure how that part works, but if I were you, I would take it apart and see the problem. It should be pretty easy to take off from the car and then take it apart. I see an electrical connector...

I had Robi do my setup 285/35/18 18x10.5 square setup 30 offset with 25mm spacer in the rear. Love how neutral the car is. Running NT05 tires. They suck on cold days. They are pretty squirrely...

took me an hour with hand tools, and an impact wrench to tighten the new lugs! id offer to help you out, but the liability of wheel lugs is probably what scares most people, including me haha
