take a loot at the post entitled "Just bought a Z ..so loud,.," one guy there really pissed me with an attack on another ..calling him a douchebag for saying his Z was loud and I think that is totally contrary to the spirit of this board..

Contnued: All this stuff can add up to some real $$ as you are finding out. Have you considered doing it yourself? The materials would run about $200.00 plus your time. If you're not into that sort of thing maybe it's time to get your hands dirty. The satisfaction of doing it yourself, your way, for WAY less money can be very rewarding. Do you have a garage and a few hand tools? This is not rocket science. Or, I'm guessing your are about my age (61) are you retired? Have the stuff shipped to my place and and see the USA in your Nissan, we can do it here. The weather has been spectacular and you could pick up Route 66 in Chicago, see the Grand Canyon sunrise, Vegas at night, Palm Springs (do you golf? If so you'll be in heaven there), Laguna Beach (we're just a dozen miles away as the crow flies), Hollywood (everyone needs to check out the Griffith Park Observatory), drive up the coast or whatever. Can you say Road Trip?!

Remember the "blanket test" I had you do sometime back? Well do it again for several days and see if you get a noticeable improvement. If you don't see much of an improvement then you might not find additional sound deadener beneficial. If the improvement is significant then you can add more Dynamat and add Luxury Liner Pro or you could just leave the blankets in the hatch as a quick and dirty solution.

Part five: To make matters worse..my wife is pissed that I am even thinking of spending another nickle on the car and frankly, its not bad but I am the type that wants ever bit I can get out of something and so as long as I think I can cut the noise more, I will be thinking about it.. but I guess I am going to have to learn to settle for something less than perfection..

Part 4 : When I got home I noticed I had a doc appointment Thursday and so I called him to change it. I got the assistant manager on the phone and told him who i was and asked for the owner who I had been working with.. He said "Ok let me put you on hold." and he transferred me.. BUT as he was transferring I heard him say.."Your favorite customer on.." and the rest was cut off!

So I got him and changed the appointment but called someone else. He was busy and the secretary asked what this was about.. I told her I needed some Dynamatting done and left my number.. No response!!

Part three:
So i waited and called in Jan. They said to call in Feb because they were installing the Christmas presents people bought. I called the first week and they said call the second. I called and they said to come in Thursday at 9:30..I got there and walked in. The owner did not even look at me for about five minutes then told me he was busy but to come back at 1.. I came back at one and he said he had a "few minor things he wanted to take care of" so he could not do it then. He told me to come back Thursday of the next week!!!

Part two of this saga:
Anyway I had the doors done and the part below the rear glass and that seems to have made a good deal of difference. Meanwhile I still want the noise lower..although it is now livable..I would like to make it even better. The roads here have a rough surface and it is loud.. So anyway I spoke with the guys who did the doors in December.. They said to call after the first of the year because they were busy for the Christmas rush.

I have changed my mind.. I will not post anymore of this sound dampening matter but I will tell you what happened but it will take FIVE messages..Here is part one:

I am really pissed.. must be getting old but.. The car is not bad.. not anywhere near as bad as before but still I would like to make it as quiet as possible. You already know about the fiasco with the guys that dynamatted the back with no change in sound. I challenged the payment through VISA and at first they agreed with me but now have changed their minds and charged me. I still am fighting them and will have a final answer at the end of the month. $750+ is more than I care to pay for something I cant detect!
