Thats what I had to do, stop comparing it to Hybrid Theory. But honestly though, if you look at from the Hybrid Theory EP to Hybrid Theory, to Meteora, to Minutes to Midnight, to A Thousand Suns, you can see a linear progression from their music being dark do what it is now. Musically, its awesome, but as a fan of Old LP, I'm kinda sad to see that stuff fade away.
