I got a Escort Passport 8500X with the red light to match my interior lighting. I'm not sure what you mean by detectable, but it's not illegal to have one in California if that's your concern. Laser jammers, or anything that jams police signals for that matter, are illegal.

I got the countryjoy (website i believe) mount that a lot of the members here got including AK370Z. It does the job and I'm happy with it. And yes it mounts pretty high, which is where I wanted as opposed to being lower and blocking more of the road.

Hey, I know a member named OMGWTFBBQ had his dash lighting changed to green so it is possible! Some one in Fullerton, CA did it for him. Here's the link:
