Got the copper crush washer at the dealership for a buck a piece. Tried to determine the right orientation of the washer (flat side up or down) before tightening it down but didn't find anything conclusive. It ends up flat either way.

The flat side of the washer towards the head of the bolt, so reverse of what you see in this picture.
