I'm not looking for power gain though- I'm looking for a particular sound. I liked the sound of the tips when I heard them at the meet but I wanted to make sure it was a good idea for me in the long run.

Lol, it seemed like you were pulling my chain....they will be as awesome as you want them to be I guess lol. As for these "super hybrid drop-in filters" - I dont know much about them. But I do know the power gains from drop-in's alone is fairly limited at best. I'd get a full, normal intake (Stillen G3 probably).
