I did it at just 14-15k and it was mud and full of metal deposits (normal from breakin I assume)... most people have the same experience. I plan on changing mine more frequently than they recommend.

IMO it will only look good on a fully tracked out car... such as the ones you posted pictures of. On a DD it will look like cheese IMO.

I can only address #3... you will need an adjustable camber/toe kit or you will rip through tires and your handling will suck. Also at that much of a drop you will get a much harsher/firmer ride...
