You have owned quite a few impressive cars. My dad had an '82 BMW 728i, I loved the shark-nose look of that car.

My '02 WRX and 370Z are the only new purchases I made, the Subaru being my first new purchase. I had originally planned on upgrading the WRX a year or so ago. Because of that, I had some extra cash saved up, and was able to purchase the 370Z before selling the WRX, and privately sold it. I agree, trade-ins add an unrequired complexity to the new car buying experience and the dealer ends up with the upper hand.

As far as the 370Z goes, one of the main reasons I purchased it was because it has a lot of technology, especially compaired to the Mustang and STi that I cross-shopped.

First car ever was a Chrysler powered Sunbeam Tiger In 1970. Later models were Ford powered 289's. The next would have to be the MGB-TD softtop British racing green with tan vinly,OD tranny & wire wheels:-) Boy was she sweet! Somewhat rare at the time. I owned that in 1973. Later a Pontiac V-6 Fiero, Pontiac convertible RAMAIR TransAm, Camero Berlinetta. Numerous family 2&4 door sedans the best being an E39 2002 M5 in Lemans Blue paint and sports blue/black leather inside. I had owned a 528i prior to that. These two were purchased used. Actually the majority of my cars have been used. I bought new about 30% of the time and used the rest. I almost ALWAYS sold my cars, NO TRADE IN'S FOR ME. You loose your shorts big time when you do that. I just sold my 2008 Infinity EX35. What an awesome car First Infinity from Nissan. In fact, that is one reason I went back to the Z car. Almost all of tech in the 370Z is from Infinity and of course a few things from XRT.
