I managed to fit almost an entire square (very little trimming) on each side - you should be able to see them on the side photos. There's room for more, but it requires a lot more trimming. I plan to finish up the hatch when I do the doors.

This type of product is really more for vibration dampening. For actual noise dampening, add a layer of closed cell foam product on top.
